That's a real tough competition. Not only must you have excellent movie editting skill, but you must have a killer understanding of good teamplay as well. Think I'll have to pass on that one.

sassa> When I compete, I compete to win. I would never turn in a half-assed piece of work. This competition is rather hard unless you have a lot of experience playing the big three, and frankly my teamplay skills are not that great. It's also been a year or more since i played any teamplay, so I would be poking in the dark if I were to search chtv for any demo material. I simply don't have the experience to know what is good RA defense on DM3 - always hated that map. DM2 for the win!

Also.. a movie about defense. Doesn't sound that exciting to me to be frank. I always thought the mandatory killing spree sequences in QW movies were rather chaotic and boring and much prefered shorter unbelievable frag and trick scenes. I'd also much prefer if there was some predefined material that *must* be used in the movie, like in the first movie competition. I know it's more restrictive, but I think it will draw more people to compete. Looking for endless amounts of demos is not the most exciting part of making a movie. I know a few people complained about the restrictive contents in the previous competiton, but I think it's for the better. It will be much easier to compare different movies, if they share the same contents and genre. If people want to be real creative and untied from any such contraints, they can always make their own movie outside this competiton. There are always polls at the end of the year that find the best movies of the year, so it's not like they won't be able to compete that way.

As an alternative I'd appriciate if there at least be some optional material that people that compete in the competion may use, so that there's at least *something* for the people that don't want to scan through demos. That way people that *want* to, will still be able to be creative and find other material.

Just my two cents.

nice words raz0 and that was exactly what I thought about when I did the first competition but after I heard ppl about the restrictino of only 1 demo I wanted to give them more "freedom".

Imo the demos that u need to look at are those e1m2/dm3 with commentary, they got it all
I dont think it will be that hard to get good demos fast, you just need to download it and go through them fast, like 1-1½ hour and u will get 1-2 good scenes with good defense.
from that you can create your movie, with a intro->the scene on dm3-ra -> the scene on e1m2-mega -> outrun
that will be 2 min if you use good camera angles...

Will take more time than the first competition but not _THAT_ much that u think, I can go through 5-6 demos with commentary for you and just give u some good defense..
its really eazy to observe a good defense, if they kill quad and survive with low health its really exciting and good.. and to dodge the second attack, even better!

I'm a little confused right now! I can use any demo, but can I use more than one?
