This thread contains feature requests relating to QuakeWorld.nu site and all of it's current sections.
We have a VERY long todo list and many things to dig into already. So if you would limit yourself to requests or changes pertaining to current sections only, it would be much appreciated. We will read all your feedback and continue to improve this site.

There is an update section of this site that can be found on in the top right when you are logged in, as shown on the picture below:

This will show updates from all sections of this site since your last visit. We will make improvements to this so you can filter sections, select certain period etc.

I would like some nicer overlay explanations of those buttons when hovered. They seem very uninteractive and boring.

Not interactive? Not sure what you mean. They are simple buttons to access vital features of the site as a user, such as overview of updates/activity on the site. our Quotes feature for the forum, manage and view your favorite's list, the message system and logout. I'm unsure what you want to interact with. It's just links to those sections. I guess since the Quotes, and favorites sections are new features people don't really know how to use them yet or what they do.

I guess we can have a better description in the hover area, and some simple instructions/reamdme in the sections after you click them. Once you have used the buttons a few times I'm sure you will feel familiar with them and appreciate their discrete but vital functions.

Yea, I was trying to find this too. I use "LastPass" to store all my passwords, and it use to fill in all such login forms for me - but it doesn't seem to understand qw.nu's login form?

Hmm, you should stay logged in as long as you don't clear browser cache or log out?

Yeah. Definitely get auto login and make the login fields compatible with 1Password and other password agents.

What I mean by interactive buttons was:

1) mouseover graphics like the other buttons on this page
2) hover explanations
3) icons "lighting up" when there's activity.

1) Will be solved, it was a last minute fix with current user-panel.
2) Hover explanations already exist? Works here atleast, whats your setup?
3) Functionality is there for most of the stuff, we just lack the icons to show it since it was a really late change. It's definitly in the works and should be up really soon

The hover explanations could be nicer than "alt" or "title".

Also, I think you should be allowed to edit your posts without the "Last edited" showing up for at least 2 minutes OR until someone actually READS your post (or when someone posts something below your post).

Do you really think its needed? The alt/title is there as help the first time you use them and when your not familiar with the site, then they should be pretty self-explanatory?

Ok you're right.

Another feature request: when responding to a post with "quote", include maximum 2 quotes within eachother with the new post.

Scrolling down the updates should load more updates with ajax.

I'm talking about these: http://www.quakeworld.nu/updates

It says "32 comments". I say remove the number and just make it infinite with ajax.

Same with topics.

Perhaps mark the read ones as gray and the unread with something else.

Suggestion:
Instead of showing (Edited: Today, 10:55) at the bottom of an edited post, put that up to the left of the frame around the post, where the post-date is shown.

It would look like this:
Today, 10:54 | Edited: Today, 10:55

We had it like that before, didn't like it so we changed it to this version.

Btw, I'm noticing that I get logged out here after some time of inactivity, thats disturbing.

* I start Firefox
* Go to www.quakeworld.nu
* I login successfully
* I close Firefox completely
* I Start Firefox

* It asks me to login again

Using Firefox 14.0.1.

Yep same issue here. It's a setting on this server that is different on our dev-server. We're looking into it, it disturbs me alot aswell.

I'd like to be able to see the "Last posts in forum"-thingy while browsing the forum itself. When I enter a thread and read it, I'd like to easier just press next thread from the "latest posts" instead of browsing back to "Home" and then find it. I guess it's not very important though.

Andeh

Also, perhaps name the page you're reading? Like, if I am reading a thread and scroll down a bunch, and I'm reading 5 threads at a time, I forget which thread I'm reading. Usually I tend to check for names of the thread all over, be it URL or name of the page itself, but I tend to find nothing here To know which thread I am reading, I need to scroll up to the top which is annoying ^^

Andeh
