Hello! Im going to start building some qw maps again and I have an important question, if you want to make new textures och edit textures what program can you use? apart from photoshop, how to save them as textures etc?

All you need to do is save them in a suitable resolution (128x128, 256x256, 512x512 etc), in a supported format (such as 24-Bit TGA) into your /textures/ directory, or you could create a pk3 file for them (Just make a RAR archive and rename it so the extension is pk3).

Perhaps he means how to create a .wad file. TGA's should be seen as a bonus which can't replace the creation of a texture .wad file.

I usually use the
Wally Wad Editor for making wads, but there are lot of other tools out there. Maybe it was worth doing some tutorials on some of the editing tools
