hi there,
I have just got my new mbp (mid2012) with mountain lion (10.8.2) installed on it. When I try to start ezquake, it is lack of the display options under Display tab.
It looks like this
Display: Main (Built in) - grey, cannot be changed
Mode: not available - grey, cannot be changed
Colors: Thousands - changeable
FSAA Samples: Disabled - changeable
Please find the screenshot here:
yousendit.Of course the game is not running with these settings..
Any idea?

Not much you can do about it I'm afraid. Apple decided to break backwards compatibility on some APIs which means it requires some changes in the code. Either fix it manually, try to peek at the code changes from Quake X by Fruitz Of Dojo and backport them to EZQuake or port the video code from other working engines.. or maybe just try another client..

ezQuake needs a good OSX maintainer, anyone?

OS X is crap.
Not very constructive ¬_¬
On the other hand Fodquake is working quite well on OS X. So it seems it isn't any worse than Windows at least.

It seems the usb mouse is not working in fodq btw (however the trackpad works), nor in fullscreen neither in windowed modes. :S
a good osx client, anyone?

No idea. So far it ran on all of my machines. Tbh that means I tried it on two - but apart from that i never had any issues with any mice or keyboards on USB.
FodQuake tries to directly intercept USB data from your mouse device. If for some reason another USB mouse driver intercepts its before and locks it exclusively for itself or there is another permission thing that prevents Fodquake from reading the USB data..
Sounds like a system issue - at least no one else reported a similar thing until now.
