Recently I've got patch to ktx from Molgrum which adds Jawnmode by vb.
So to enable this mode u can use "/jawnmode" command, or "set k_jawnmode 1" in server.cfg.
Server warn about this mode during contdown, so u have chance spot it before match starts.
Not all features was added, but list of what included in Molgrum's patch is:

- Axe: DMM3 damage raised from 20 to 50.
- GL: No longer fires random within a few degress of crosshair.
- LG: DMM4 discharges now always only kill the user,
instead of there being a 50% change you'll discharge normally.
- NG: Nail speed increased from 1000 to 1800. Nails no longer alternate between
coming out 5 units to the left and 5 units to the right of crosshair.
- SNG: Nail speed increased from 1000 to 1800.
- RL: Direct hit damage now 110, not random between 100 and 120.
- SG: Pellets are no longer random, and make a plus shape.
- SSG: Pellets are no longer random, and make a plus shape.
- GA: Protection now 50% was 30%
- YA: Protection now 67% was 60%
- RA: Protection now 75% was 80%
- Fallbunny: Can jump straight after fall.
- Fairpacks: Drop last weapon fired instead of weapon held.
- Packs: Ammo limited to 1/4 of capacity. Packs are now dropped with players
issue /kill. No more silly 'DMM3 free rockets' rule.
- Packs: Used weapon model of weapon you drop, instead of backpack.
- Bodies: Dead bodies removed after death animation, so you can't use them to
tell when an enemy spawns.

For someone who loves changes, sure its all optional and by default off, just use "/jawnmode" command if u want toggle this.

are there /timout & /timein functionalities in KTX?
we need those!

also make a server option for warmup like in Quake3: you can kill opponents in prewar and you have all weapons and 100/100 stats

I dont think we need q3-like prewar. prewar is long enough anyways. What's next? prewar fragcount?

i know this feature could be fun when doing some tricks or something. But i'd prefer the current prewar and dont want an option for it.

but hey.. people thought visible scrags spectators would be a cool inclusion
why not make an option for q3 warmup style as well? no one will force you to use it

later edit: by the way! to make the game even more n00b friendly have you considered making an in-game menu for usual KTX stuff? (voting maps/setting mode/timelimit/etc.) so you'd only need to type a single command (advertised in MOTD) like /ktx and you'd have a nice little menu to change stuff with it..

As I understand simple way is compile mvdsv and ktx on 32bit distro.

I have nightmares from Q3 when people would just jump around in prewar and never ready up as it was the same shit anyway, the difference was that it wouldn't say 35-0 in the scoreboard 10 minutes later. :p

"25% of ammo doesnt work", mmm, better to say dropped ammo capped to 1/4 of max possibile ammo for particular weapon, so if u have 200 nails, u drop 50, if u have 10 nails, u drop 10, in other words u drop no more than 50 nails. Similar rules for other weapons I think.

"shotguns + (plus) shaped hits do not work." how u gess it? If u look at bullets marks, then u wrong, hard to exaplain, but QW show bullets marks incorrectly.

I believe vb explained in a recent note that it causes problem with pointing at the dropped weapons in dmm3, that's why it was removed in the KTX-version too. It actually seems like vb has removed alot of things that used to be in previous jawnmodes, like the CPMA-style doublejumping, and it's bad that he's nowhere to be found either.
Anyway this is easy to reimplement, however I think a discussion occurs about 4on4-games?

Nice to see ktx site is back online!

Now qqshka, is there any cumber (I hope this is the right word) to implement a variable to turn on and off the identification of the player(s) who is setting something in the server? Cause if you have 6 players in the server and two of them are fighting each other with commands (ex.: 1on1, 3on3, 1on1, 3on3...). I need to know who I do have to kick from the server.

Just to remember my old post. There's a exploitable "bug" when changing between CTF and team modes. Brazilian servers have now CTF disable to prevent stupid nerds from restarting the map aye. Once again administrators has no clue of what player is doing the change, cause there's no identification.

I made a change in the source code to solve the above problem. Just changed the line 2985 at commands.c

from:

to:

This is a change I made to match.c to correct the problem related by me in this thread.

KTX creates a demo with the name of each player in the server when 1on1 mode is selected. Unfortunately if there's a big number of players in the server, the name of the created demo will be enormous and mvdsv will not be able to erase this file in some cases. Due to this fact, the limit established to store demos in the server, will not be respected and server will record demos till it's hard drive limit.

To prevent this problem I made a change on the match.c, so if there are 2 players on the server, it'll do the same as before, but if the number of players is different from 2, it'll creat a generic duel name.

The administration of the brazilian KTX server (there's only one) will allow the max of 2 streaming connections (maybe only one).

Incorrect vars. They are qtv_streamport and qtv_maxstreams. You can set qtv_maxstreams in any config that is execed for all ports on your server but you need to be specific with qtv_streamport, as it can only exist as one value for only one port. The idea is to set qtv_streamport same as your server's normal port, for example qw.ktx.nu:27500 would have qtv_streamport 27500 (normal qw port is udp, qtv_streamport is tcp so it's possible).

Renzo can you tell me what would be the correct QTV configuration for the QuakeCon QW server?
here it is. they will be using KTX Mod 1.33 , mvdsv 0.26 server.
