Renzo can you tell me what would be the correct QTV configuration for the QuakeCon QW server? here it is. they will be using KTX Mod 1.33 , mvdsv 0.26 server. If you have qw.quakecon.org:28500 for your server, you need to specify qtv_streamport 28500 for it and that's it. Of course you need to tell us the IP:port so we can connect EZTV to it. Now this is important: EZTV will not be really usable or even stable UNLESS you compile the latest mvdsv from cvs. That veeeery old 0.26 official build lacks all the advancements/fixes done in the past few months (it's release date was April 10th, 2007).

i have no idea.. and i don't think the admins will want to use an unreleased version.. so no qtv at QuakeCon i guess :/

Server's administrators (not rcon administrators like me) do not like to use a app compiled by players. It's not safe since the app could be deliberately infected by all sort of malicious code. https://tinyurl.com/qwbrasil - QuakeFiles

If his word doesn't count, noone's will. Server's administrators (not rcon administrators like me) do not like to use a app compiled by players. Hahahah this was funny. Compiled by the players? I'm certain most of the players have no knowledge of compiling a CVS build of MVDSV. Server administrator = a person who has access to the server files, not some guy with admin code or rcon code.

I'm a player, I have the rcon but I'm just a player! If I compile and send the files to the server administrator, he'll not use it, cause if I did something wrong, he is the one who'll lose the job. They are being idiots if they ignore Qqshka post, as he is one of the leading coders behind MVDSV. If his word doesn't count, noone's will. Renzo, They will not compile the source themselves and they will not accept a version compiled for someone else. Just like in my case! https://tinyurl.com/qwbrasil - QuakeFiles

I have put up a new QW server (if you can add to the list that would be great!)
Timbaland's House of RELEASE KTX FFA - 69.70.247.66:27500 (Montreal, Canada)
All I need to do is make a map rotation cfg, and then the server will be fine! Go play, have fun!

the list isn't really up2date since quakeservers.net show all these servers, and most servers are ktx nowadays anyway.
but still. added your server.

I'm not been able to use cmd admin in a KTX server configured to FFA only. Already tried k_admins 1 but doesn't work. Server configs + progstnx https://tinyurl.com/qwbrasil - QuakeFiles

Not sure this thread needs to be sticky anymore... I'm opening 2 threads for ktx bugs and mvdsv bugs.

[POTENTIAL NEW FEATURE] Had a little play with the code yesterday and found out that I probably could implement something that would work on ANY client... What do you think about it? http://files.quakeonline.net/demos/guesswhat.mvd(Make sure you look at the demo in 3rd player view, OUTSIDE the player and looking his way!) BTW: I guess you have to use this pakfile to have correct models... http://files.quakeonline.net/pakfiles/test.pak(Renamed it pakX.pak when X is next number available in your /id1 directory and put it there.)

It says the .pak file is not a packfile and without the packfile I get missing model error.

http://files.quakeonline.net/pakfiles/test.pak is actually a .zip

Looks like vwep. What's the difference between this implementation and the one with some sort of "initial support" in ezQuake?

This is completely client independent... No need to any code client side All is in KTX. Needs some tweaking codewise, to ease skinning with team/opponent skins but working good so far...

Okay, so I have CTF... and KTX is all running and everything with MSDSV and everytime I type CTF in game it disconnects everyone.. crashes the server and says "SV_Error: Program Error".

Sounds weird, we would need to review your configuration. Come to #ktx more than 10 minutes (especially on week-ends) and we'll help you out

I am going to give up on CTF because it's not really needed...
but now I am wondering how come I can't change the map during a match, and other players can't join the match if it's already started? K_Exclusive is at 0 and the only way I can fix it is if I set it to a matchless server but then we can't do 1on1, 2on2 etc etc and that would be really cool to have..

I'll look into it and will come back to you. In the meantime, could you ask your question on our tracker, it will help us 1) track your questions and not forget them 2) use the answers as docs to come

what This might be little late, but it seems that you have k_ctf_custom_models set to "1" in your configs. That setting requires extra .pak to be in ktx's directory or the server will crash. Either set it to "0" or download the pack from http://www.quakeservers.net/files/pak0.pak .

Are you using latest sources from git?

I'm not sure, I got everything from the KTX website which does seem a little out of date...in other words I don't know what Git is... haha

Are you using an linux or windows host to run the server? If it's linux, you will need the git software. On debian/ubuntu based systems you can do: aptitude install git or apt-get install git Then to get MVDSV you do git clone http://qw-dev.net/git/mvdsv and for KTX git clone http://qw-dev.net/git/ktx Then you have to enter each directory and do ./configure make Then you will get a qwprogs.so from ktx an a binary mvdsv to use for your server, then you just replace the ones in the server_pack with what you just compiled, that should work.

I'm running Windows.. seems like my version is pretty up to date according to the KTX website.. is it really necessary to update this way?
