This sounds so awesome and promising, I haven't yet tested (waiting for things to finalize) Things are final from my end, you can test away! Just put the player.mdl in qw/progs, use one of Jisse's new skins, and also the new ezq build. All the files are linked in post #54 above. You will look like a scumbag cheater with the "modified player/eyes" warning (unless the server uses the new mvdsv build), but that's ok f_modified will report All Models OK, and f_version will show a version string indicating that you're testing a new player.mdl There isn't really anything else to finalize on the code side other than getting the changes reviewed by someone else. All that's left is some testing and maybe a couple of new skin options. 'DJOP -BD

I'll see if I soonish can get "support" included in an official build of ezQuake instead. Feel free to test BD's version but before spreading it on a bigger basis give me some time to fix it officially.

Dimman, just let me know if/when I can send you the changes. There are about 4 lines changed/added in EZQ and another 4 or so in MVDSV, so a review shouldn't be too involved. I'm pretty comfortable that the EZQ change is "correct", but the MVDSV one feels slightly ugly because it expects only 1 player.mdl. Not sure if there's a better way to do it.

While doing some testing I noticed that my weapon HUD elements didn´t load when I used BD´s client with the new player model. Instead of the usual HUD element I got simple text; BS, RL, GL etc. carrier has arrived - twitch.tv/carapace_

Yeah that's some other EZQ change, not mine.
Use this:
/hud_gun2_style 9 /hud_gun3_style 9 ...
Doesn't affect your existing config either, so it seems safe to make this change.

Nice effort, although there are some quircks. Obviously the nose is oddly high (and pointy) And while modifying the skin (for team coloring) I noticed that didnt fitted perfectly to the model edges. too bad the model misses the leg protection plates and the top extruding of the shoulder caps dat face :S dat ass! But to be fair, it looks better from a distance. Well, it's more succesfull than my effort, which whould never translate to a .mdl anyway.

I improved the skin Jisse made a little bit (the boots still look odd tho). Also I made a few colored skins: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple. Eyecandy download skins zip(fixed link) (Edited 2013-09-19, 15:50)

Looks like the author is back again working on models! I'll add support for the new model (when it's final) in ezQuake 3.0.

Anyone got a working link for these mentioned colored skins for the new player model? Yeah, I am still running around with original QW models. Where can i find the last update of new player model, and what do I need to do to get it to work, including enemyskin (white) and teamskin (green) in EzQuake 2.2 and/or 3.0?
