The 26th of december i will host a lan party where we will have a 8 team tournament of good ol quake 1. We will all be running the latest nquake package.
Now the question: i will have a computer from where the playoffs will be showed on a projector via qtv. As i myself hopefully will be in the playoffs i would like the setup to be as smooth as possible.
I would like it to always track best player, view total scores all the time and health of visible players. Would be greatful for a config or some commands for this so i can just choose what qtv stream to go with.

Wow, nice thing! 8 teams of 4? That's some nice numbers. Good ol' quake I'm guessing you're into netquake/vanilla or will you play QW?

I'd like to get a hold of that configuration so I can make a "qtv spectator addon" or something for nQuake...

Fine, I'll upload it to here -> DOWNLOAD SUDDENDEATHTV CONFIG!.

Few notes:

This cfg is created for 16:9 (1920*1080). If you are using a different resolution, I can help you change it.
Some things are changed for 4on4/1on1. For example, for duels, I disable "hud_score_bar_show".
The cl_maxfps is capped at 60 as I stream in 60 fps. One could raise it to whatever they like.
Some things might not work, such as textures/models, unless you have them in your qw folder.

If something specific doesn't work you can always ask me for help. As I said, I am available pretty much all day at #suddendeath @ Quakenet IRC.

What would be awesome is a automatic show of scores say every 30sec for 5sec. My thinking is to try and remake a timing script. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

And yes, I'm officially more excited of the lan than Christmas :-)

Ok. Some feedback...

Overall the demo config is awesome!

What I miss is automatic switching to the best player. This as I will be playing myself and cannot be switching players all the time.

Have searched a bit for it in the ez manuals but cannot find it. Help greatly appreciated.

Now it would just be great to show the scoreboard every 30 seconds or so.

Type /autotrack in console. Not really sure what cl_hightrack 1 even does, but /autotrack will keep you on the most relevant player almost at all times.
