We aren't doing registrations just yet (but soon) as right now we are just seeing how much interest we can get. So far it looks like enough as we have roughly 6 teams (2 from each region) which is the minimum I was willing to proceed.
I think more euros will come on board when they realise that most of their games will be other europeans and being round-robin they get to play every single other european team.

What are the rules concerning the clients rulesets in this tournament?
Something like this would be accepted?
f_modified: All Models Ok f_ruleset check: default+si-mf
I really don't know why that +si cause I don't use any of those things described... Amd Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz : Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz : MSI GeForce N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 1GB : benQ XL2410T LED 23.6" 1920x1080 120hz 2ms : Microsoft Explorer 3

I really don't know why that +si cause I don't use any of those things described... I think it's more than time now for tournament admins to rethink rules, like being more allowing than before to make the game a little bit more approachable. Does it really hurt to for instance allow some timers to make it easier for everyone to time some items? Right now all of these things are "privileged advantages" of experienced players, because new players keep all their focus on moving/shooting. Learning to time items is cruical, why not lower the limits in atleast some tournaments, because lets face it, playerbase is constantly dropping..

f_ruleset check: default+si-mf
I really don't know why that +si cause I don't use any of those things described... The +i is from the command cl_idrive 1 being in your config. Using this command is definitely considered cheating. It allows you to walk faster than previously possible.

I think it's more than time now for tournament admins to rethink rules Definitely it is time to revisit the ruleset as the smackdown one is quite outdated. I am sure the debate of what shall be changed would cause quite some debate. We'd then need a new ruleset coded in to the client and have everyone upgrade to make use of the new ruleset. I didn't like it, but i put the smackdown ruleset in my CFG and I got used to it eventually. If people just use it from the beginning there is no problem IMO. I think it isn't enabled in nQuake by default.... maybe we should get that changed

a new ruleset coded in to the client and have everyone upgrade to make use of the new ruleset. which new limitations do you think are necessary? What about that .DLL thing (security module), what was it for? (QW Nickname: AL.Kernell)

Tournaments like this are only interesting if the great Canadian STEEK provides commentary for all the matches.
Someone should track him down and tell him that he'll get paid. Don't let him know that we don't have any money though. That's something to discuss later.

Surely if you disable cl_idrive or whatever it's called people who really want it will just do it with + and - aliases

Surely if you disable cl_idrive or whatever it's called people who really want it will just do it with + and - aliases It's blocked. It's not really cheating the way dirtbox presents it. If tournament admins allow it it's of course allowed. It helps with speedjumping/bunnyhopping/strafe jumping. Not really that important, people who can't move or don't know the tactics will still get seriously pwned. Perhaps time to rethink and make it easier for newcomers?
