Helllo friends,

As I'm sure you are aware, the quakeworld.nu wiki does not seem to be allowing people to register new accounts at this time. This does not hinder the elite, privileged members of the community such as myself at all, but it does make it a bit rough for the newer riffraff to contribute information.

Is there any hope of getting this fixed? Alternatively, can anyone be contacted to make forum accounts for people who don't have them?

I borrowed a login to update the stuff from Norway, people could just do the same if they want to add something. I'd like to see the registration fixed, but I asked about this two years ago, I don't expect it to happen.

I'm surprised to find my details still work

Started looking into it today:

• Removed ~3k users
• Removed a lot of spam pages
• Added missing database column
• Enabled email confirmation to be able to edit pages

Trying to see if the email verification email may get through... Hopefully the wiki will be in a working state soon.

(Although I guess the best thing to do would be to install a clean version and transfer stuff... But that's a lot of work and would require permission from Zalon.)

I had read/write access when we developed this webpage, but we did that on a separate server and when it was moved here to "production" I only got read access for some reason for a pretty long time. Hard to do anything with that though . I got the rw access a while back from Zalon, although it's his servers so I can't do bigger stuff without consulting with him.

EDIT: I just got the confirmation email from the wiki page, 4 hours after registration, so it's a bit slow but it works now.

The wrong password coming up just means you put the wrong answer for shaft damage. Note that it asks for theoretical damage per second not per cell.

FYI I tried registering a new account and for me the confirmation e-mail was there right away when i opened my e-mail.

Edit: maybe taking a look at this fix for Chrome menu bug aswell would be nice. Apparently just a deprecated CSS file (KHTMLFixes.css) that should be removed/commented out, so hopefully good pain/gain ratio.

Could someone disable the display of E_DEPRECATED error messages? /api.php barfs that out and breaks the wikiteam's archival tools.

I've heard that another person can't create an account too, but I wasn't able to figure out the specifics. Just that "it won't validate my email". ;(

Noticed the error message is along what you wrote in case i got it wrong or forgot to type it in, i.e. a bit misleading.

Look in your spam folder, and you might have to wait several hours unfortunately. Took me 4 hours to receive it in junk folder when I tried.

Hey dimman, while you're at it gfx.quakeworld.nu seems to have the same kind of problem, showing broken stuff when logging, and asking for a code found on #quakeworld ( ?? ) when trying to create an account...
