Hi there. I put together a new map. It's called Solarium. I promise to put up a zip file soon with the bsp, txt and loc but for now I'll just paste the txt file and you can download the map here to look around and if you have a server, please load it up and let us know. I've had a few games on it already and it's pretty fun but of course I'm bias.

Solarium is a small duel map yet big enough for some fun 2on2s. I started this map by building the main atrium and then continued by adding around that room, going in a circular manner. Essentially it's 2 rooms, the YA/LG/MEGA room and the RA/QUAD room, with 3 teles.
At first I thought this map was going to be too small to add 2 rocket launchers but I don't think I've ever heard of a good duel map with only 1 RL. I rearranged the weapons quite a bit before I finally found their rightful spots, so yes, there's 2 RLs.
There's one area of the map (near the nailgun) where you can see both the yellow and red armour. I only noticed it after mapping it but it made me think a little of the YA/RA room in DM4 so, imo, there's some potential when it comes to controlling the armours. Also, near the MEGA, you can spot the yellow and red armour, so again this adds to the control factor of the major items.
Solarium is constructed with the simple Base textures, the ones you find in the single player maps E1M1, E2M1, E3M1, E4M1. I tried to keep the amount of textures to a minimum while doing my best not to make the map too bland. Also, the overall architecture varies from one area to the next so that there isn't a specific part of the map that resembles another so as not to confuse a player.
It's small, fast, fun and I tried to keep the snags at a very low minimum. Please add it to your servers and leave a comment on the forums.
