Hi, I'm trying to get default nQuake under 100mb while retaining as many features as possible. Smaller is better, otherwise. I can delete some demos, and textures.pk3, to get down to about 85mb, but then I don't have textures. Any suggestions about what else to nuke, so I can keep textures?

If someone can help me out here, you'll make it easier for some new players to play this game.

you could try deleting the maps as they'll be downloaded automatically when you connect to a server that needs them.
and the demos... who needs demos when you can just watch them on youtube or something instead.

maps_gpl is only 3 mb.
What does nquake.pk3 do? Game works fine without it, except I get some FAIL message at console when game loads. It's a fat 40 mb.

What does nquake.pk3 do?
You can see for yourself.
.pk3 files are zip files, open with any zip
.pak files open with PakExplorer or PakScape
google it
also you can replace existing textures with lower res textures. look at
gfx.qw.nunever argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.
