Hi guys, I came across a thread on ESR comparing the LG 24GM77-B and the AOC G2460PF.
http://esreality.com/post/2842652/cheap-144hz-lcd-for-kvek-but-which/
In this thread, there are tests linked which suggest that the AOC is both slower and faster in response than average. Can anyone comment, or recommend a similar but better monitor? Aesthetically, the AOC looks better than the LG, and apparently the LG also has a brightness sensor.
Also, there is an AOC G2460PQU, which has no adaptive sync. I'm assuming this is the one to get over the G2460F with freesync, because I'm assuming freesync adds lag and is worthless for this application.

I got a Aoc G2460 Fq before and was very disappointed and i wouldn't recommend your model either. Better save some money and get The Asus rog swift pg278q or Asus rog swift pg278qr (same monitor but 165hz)

True 240 hz monitors are set to be released soon. You might want to hold off until then.

sed, how much do you think a 240hz might cost?
I don't want to spend more than $300 for 144hz. Would anyone recommend the LG over the benq xl2411? How about the Acer GN246HL, if they're all shit, I might as well get the cheapest!
edit, I think I'm gonna go for the LG. It's the cheapest I can get, and return, locally.

IMO 240Hz is ridiculous, there's absolutely no need for that. I used to play with a 100Hz CRT and that was good enough for top div1 play. Later on got a 120Hz TFT screen and that too is really good enough. So holding off to buy a 144Hz to wait for 240Hz is IMO unneccessary, not to mention that the 240Hz ones are gonna be way more expensive.
Buy one of the current 144Hz screens thats gotten good reviews and that you like, that's my suggestion.

I would never get it as it probably costs 600+. The AOC I would guess is in the 300-600 dollar range but honestly I have no idea.

"I don't wanna spend" I had that thought to, bought the AOC and it was same, if not worse then my old 60hz lcd monitor.
Read on what to buy, spend some more, and get way more value, the Rog is a bit expensive yeah, maybe there's something in between..

Many was disapointed with the Aoc g2460fq and suspect it dosen't do true 144hz. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/3qr7p7/aoc_g2460fq_144hz_not_really_144hz/
I'm also thinking about getting a 144hz montior, anyone knows anything about the Asus 24" LED VG248QE? The Asus 24" LED G-Sync Rog Swift PG248Q does true 180hz but is about 240 euro more than vg248qe!

I have an AOC and it is definitely 144hz. It is 24" but I cannot remember which model it is.
I had previously had a 27" Asus @ 144hz and it was too big for me to transport back to Australia from the Netherlands so Rasta and I swapped monitors and I've been quite happy with the 24" AOC @ 144hz.... I will check the model number when I get home.
