A lot of players have gl_smoothmodels 0 in their cfg. In ezquake 3.5 this command is removed, and its default to smoothmodels on without any way to change it back. Qw didn't originally have smoothing of models.

I'm assuming its something to do with 3.5 using a new renderer.
