Hello everyone, could you please help me?
I’m the admin of a server here in Brazil: qw.click21.com.br
There’s a player who always come to our sever and scrull the game. When I realize it’s him I ban his IP, but the asshole always come back into the server with another IP. Is there a way in QW to banish him forever, or for a long time?
In Counter Strike the permanet ban works by steam_id. Do we also have a way that really works in QW?
Thanks.

Ban his IP mask, I doubt all the parts of the address change

last 2 numbers usually change, and banning x.x.*.* wouldn't be very good

Individual user accounts tied to a proper email address are about the only real way to keep out trouble-makers.
Unfortunately makes it slightly more awkward for genuine users since they have to enter a password each time they connect to the server.
IIRC there was a server in the US which ran a mod along these lines specifically to manage behaviour on the server.
quake.sol.net was it ? Anyone remember this ?
You couldn't join the game (it was an FFA) without first entering your unique password which was assigned to you after signing up at the address given in the MOTD with a valid email address.
Not really the best solution for a pick up and play server, but for a bunch of regular players it's probably worthwhile.
Heh, just checked. Quake.sol.net is still running
