It's unlikely that a new keyboard will boost your quakeworld performance unless your current keyboard either

a) can't recognize enough keys for normal qw play (unlikely)
b) has so terrible tactile feedback that you don't know whether you've pressed a key (very unlikely)

Either way, if you want a new keyboard and want quality, you should go with the IBM Model M or with Unicomp keyboard. The latter is basicly a rebranded Model M with optional USB and trackpoint (neat!).

I´m searching for an Illuminated USB Keyboard with smooth touch.

I like this one but i read somewhere that the keys are not that sensible and the lights power are decreasing of intensity as time goes by...

Anyone got an opinion or experienced one?

The loud clicking will only keep you amused for the first 5 minutes, then it's starting to get on your nerves. I find it ok for typing, but annoying for games. And it's quite large, several centimetres wider and deeper than a typical 104-key one.

I prefer the Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite 2 (http://www.pfu.fujitsu.com/en/hhkeyboard/leaflet/photo.html#hhklite2), a sexy little beast with full-size keys. Great key feel and good on your ears.

Another great keyboard I used extensively was a Logitech, dunno what model it was. All Logitech should be good, I don't think they'd risk discrediting themselves in the gamers' eyes.

But there are many, many keyboard manufacturers that produce utter crap. Some are crap right out of the box, some will last half a year and keys will start getting jammed or abnormally hard to press.

Illuminated keyboard? How stupid. Spend two weeks learning to touch-type and you won't ever have to look at the keys again.

And here's something to keep you focused and prevent cheating while you're learning:
