The final production release of my quakeworld movie "Quakeworld Delusions" has finally been completed. It has taken me a long time to create this movie, mainly due to time constrictions and figuring out the use of the software. Movie consists of lots of in game shots, with quite a few on aerowalk, and some bloopers. I have put a high focus onto music sync throughout this movie DOWNLOADhttp://files.filefront.com/Quakeworld_Delusionsavi/;5397409;;/fileinfo.html now up on 2 mirrors http://www.fluffydevil.com/Quakeworld_Delusions.avi www.quaddicted.com/files/Quakeworld_Delusions.avi Filesize 272.58 MB Length 9:15 xvid 2pass 4000kbps // Shots by // Deh Dilusion Madman Mantis MK Outlander React Sicness

yay! new movie it's a keeper for me, only things i want to criticize are: - crosshair not fully visible, you should have scrapped it anyway - explosions were waaay too flashy obscuring what was going on in the scene but the content was really good so that's what matters most! good job dude

really entertaining, i liked it a lot. the only annoying things were too much gfx. rain/that huge lightning effect that takes up half the screen/huge explosions other than that gj.

cheers mech, part of the reason it took me a long time to create is that there are not many quakers left in nz now, and landing good shots takes a while on 70-90 ping playing in australia(where most of my shots are from).
Im hoping to maybe team up with somebody to create my next video, already got a few people who are keen to help me out with frags, but editing is all me atm, got some programs ive been playing with, combustion AE and the likes, very time consuming to figure out tho.

Great vid! This is head and shoulders above most QW movies released, mainly because it simply outclasses the opposition when it comes to content. The good: Awesome content (not the standard dm2 bigroom airgib wankery that most people make vids of these days) Great editing The bad: Argh, it's the revenge of the tedious panning intro! Music didn't do much for me, though it worked well enough with the action i suppose Wouldn't have minded some 4on4 stuff. Overall a great effort. Some forum regulars should take notes Spell "mogul," Bateman. How do you spell mogul? M-o-g-u-l. Mo-gul. Mog-ul. Ice, ghosts, aliens-

Things I dislike about the movie: - Midair frags (everyone has scored a diamond midair right??) - Disturbed (unoriginal, yes? huarg, huarg!) - "Funny" frags with clowny music (its not funny and it screws up the whole fast-paced mood you have going on here) - x) ( ) - And, well, I'd like to see more sync in movies (it's not like there has been much syncing in any qw fragmovie after thebeast stopped making them) Pretty good though overall.

thanks for the comments guys, panning intro? I thought it was rather different compared to the "panning intros" , went for that at least. Im from New Zealand, where we have about what, 10 active qw players left ? lol, about 40-50ish i think if you include australia, so we dont get too many 4on4 matches. I will probably make a QWD2 as I already have some shots which are way nicer than the ones in QWD, just got em too late to be assed ripping them into QWD. Joulukuu, thanks for your critiscm, QW has its funny moments so I thought it would be cool to mix things up a little in the middle, and as for music sync, well.. I think my video has more music sync than 95% of QW movies out there, watch and listen closely, theres more synced than the obvious thumps I find it is extremely hard to come across good music for QW movies, it would be cool to put together some sort of list where people submit songs that are QW movie worthy, I always watch movies and am like oh DAMN i wanted to use that... lol

After watching it a few more times, I think it might be too that the music is kind of hard to follow when it's all mushed up because of the bad quality, which really is a waste since atleast I missed most of those parts in my first watching.

very NICE movie... Xtreme content and video quality... good work =]
just a few things to fix for the next one (i hope there will be another one ! ;D)
- that rocket glow seems nice in a 1 minute movie, but not in a 10min one !! the annoyance of it keeps rising and rising =D
- the music is fine, however, it sounds really weird... dunno if its about poor quality mp3 or wrong eq´ing, but the sound seems with too much treble...
besides that minor flaws, Great movie !! =]

So, here's the brutal, shocking truth. + Intro. It was, actually, different from most panning intros. Good. + Content. MOTHER FUCKING SON OF A BITCH content. Had me laughing out loud several times. This is one of the things you can't hide with fancy editing, and this is also one of the areas where you have succeeded the most. This is easily on the same level as QW Malfunctioned, Mortuary and DDE2. + Editing/compression. Clean, crisp - although I thought the imagery was a bit too bright/bleak. Perhaps a bit more contrast would do that last little trick needed. + Use of effects. Although the rockets were a bit through the roof, most of what you used was appropriate, and added to the overall experience. - Soundtrack. I'm still waiting for that perfect movie that doesn't include a lot of numetal. The music did its job, but that's all it did. - "Fun" part of the movie. Although it featurd some rather entertaining moments, the timing could have been better. As it is now, it kind of breaks up the fast-paced mood (which might be the whole point, I don't know). All in all, this is a fantastic work of art. If I wanted to show my friends a motivational video of why to play QW, this would absolutely be a candidate. Great work! Keep 'em coming! Edit: Figured I should mention a few of my favorite moments aswell, to show what I appreciate the most. The airgib where the action slows down and the rocket is "tracked" by a big crosshair, 05:31-ish, is a typical example of cool - and good - FX usage. Also, the midair sequence was a wonderful surprise - here I go, just about to change my mind about the greatnes of this movie ("#¤#% midairgibs), and then all of a sudden we get something NEW! Very commendable. That's all I had for now. Teamplay is nothing. Aim is everything. OBEY YOUR AIM
