It's been two years...
…and loads of broken promises, but finally –
finally – this site has received a well deserved face lift. After having put several hours of work into it, the electronic botox is in place after a nice, although a bit long, surgery by Gaz and Zalon among others. The reason for launching the new site today, on the 2nd of April, is simple: it’s four years since the
original Quakeworld.nu was launched and a better fourth year anniversary gift than a revamped site couldn’t be thought of.
With this site we want to show you that we haven’t given up on the community. There are still several active projects and we believe Quakeworld.nu should be one of them. Along with a client like ezQuake and tournaments like EQL, NQR and Ownage, the QW community should be in a better shape than in a long time. I hope you will make all your gaming friends aware of this and point them in the right direction, to fQuake and Quakeworld.nu. We believe that we can make Quakeworld grow a bit for once as we now have an active and fresh community base.
Along with the reworked frontpage and new features we got one or two sub sites coming up too which will be worth keeping your eye open for. Maybe an old favourite will come back, who knows what we might have in store for you. A sure thing is that the site will continue to be developed and as the site is fresh, we urge you to submit any bugs and greetings you got in the comments to this news item.
Anyways, as Zalon would’ve put it, the new features on the site are a few and I suggest you go and check them out. Update your profile, upload configs, conchars and all kinds of other stuff and have a good time. Hopefully we can get this site moving outside the forum too. It’s been a while since the front page actually was worth visiting.
Let’s just hope that Shub-Niggurath won’t put a spell on us for killing her precious kitty.
