Dag Def Extreme 3 is soon out and I had the privileged of watching some clips of this highly anticipated movie.
Click here and to read the previews and watch the pictures of DDE3
InfoThere has been two movies in the DDE collection (
DDE1 and
DDE2) and
Pez has worked on the third part for
over 1 year now and is finally done.
He will release a dde3.zip for all graphical nerds who wanna have the same setup as DDE3 that will contain models/skins among other stuff.
The movie is in two versions 800mb xvid with lower resolution and a 1.5gb with high resolution.
I have had the privilege of watching two small clips (
1 min) of the movie (intro and a frag-sequence)
The movie will be released on
Saturday or
Sunday so stay alert.
Here are some thoughts of the clips and the upcoming movie:

We've been wanting long, we were patient and it's finally here. Before it even existed we started calling it "The Video" and now it arrives to our screens.
And I honestly say, the waiting was worth it.
After the very first moments of this video you will be certain of one thing. This was made by a professional.
Game settings are perfectly balanced on the edge of graphic attractiveness and clear display of every single moment happening on the scene. One would think that you can never reach a good compromise in these two important aspects but I think this video made it. You will see scripted particles in action, pleasant use of colored dynamic lights and corona effect. Tempting essence of detailed models, decent head up display, modern player skins and fine-tuned particle explosions.
On the top of the best visual settings of the game, the most delicious post editing effects have been added, giving each scene it's unique atmosphere, energy and dynamics. Pez has already become a trademark in this.
Famous Kyu.one movie, which was showcase of what can be done with camera scripting features set a new standard in the area of camera work. But Dag Def Extreme didn't just go on the same level, it is reaching over it. Long scenes of marvelous frags captured by a camera moving along with the action without a single cut, all with well chosen music, perfectly matching with the highlight moments you see. Swi
Wow! Pez did some really amazing work here with this long-awaited QW movie. The stunning state of the art editing and overall smoothness of DDE3 will just blow you away. With dag and def starring as the main characters, top quality content is guaranteed. ParadokS
Just saw a preview of the new lon awaited DDE3 (Dag Def Extreme 3). The intro's on theese new qw movies just look hotter and hotter. That's both good and sad i guess. Often times the actual movie content can't keep up with the intro's. I hope this won't be another similar case. But from previous DDE movies the content from dag and def should be up to speed, eventhough they hvaen't been active in a long long time. I'm sure they have stashed away some nuggets for us. IBH|123
So sassa let me sneak preview clips of DDE3 provided i would write about my impression of them, well here it is:
As expected after the impressive previous two DDE movies and the time and energy pezz put into it, the visuals are very nice to look at. The intro looks stunning, hollywood-like but in a good way. Reminded me a lot of watching the opening credits of some blockbuster movie. Also, both in the intro and the clip of the actual action, i could see the smoothness of the free-floating cam we know since the release of camquake and kyu.one. Combine this with the frag quality the first two dag&def movies were known for and you have a good idea of what DDE3 should be like - one of the milestones, the kind of movie you keep in your shortlist to recommend to non-QWers. It's been a long time since I last got the good oldfashioned "demoscene" feeling, but
the intro to Dag Def Extreme 3 gave me just that.
The intro music along with the smooth editing made me want to see more, a lot more.
Unfortunately for me, the guy who gave me the clips only sent me the intro
and one minute of action. What he should have done was include the whole thing
Just for the record I'm very new to the whole QW scene, Which means I don't relate to
the early QW films like a lot of you probably do. Of the few films I've seen there's
only one I really like, and that is Kyo One by Nylon. But from the things I've seen so
far it seems I have to add DDE3 to my list of "must see" QW films as well.
As I only got the one minute preview, it's pretty hard to say something substantial
about the actual content. But it looks like we'll get exactly what we expect;
lots of midair frags, maybe a couple of quadruns, and hopefully lots and lots of slick
moves. In my opinion the item models and textures are well chosen, and the film creator
has resisted the temptation to put in a lot of flashy special effects.
There are just enough effects to make the game look good, but it doesn't get in the
way of the action. This will definitely be a QW film you can't afford to miss.Final thoughts?I cant wait!!!!!
Spread the word.... DDE3 is finally here
