Clan Arena fever

Two weeks ago, there was no Clan Arena servers in europe. For quite some time I was thinking about it. Then, a series of events led to what i call CA fever!

First, this new portuguese speaking guy

Claw joined my clan's channel. earlier, there have been some conversations about how ca was great (hi fer) and how we missed it. One day, and after seeing that

quakephil had CA servers in NYC, i decided to mail

grump of geeky's uk server asking to setup a CACE CA server on his servers. With good results.

Meanwhile, this

Claw fella starts talking about a CA tournament (#qwca.fusion) and at the same time

Vloody, while we were testing the server, told me he had experience in admining CA servers and had a great pack with all included. So i ask

Grump to update it again, and took the oportunity to send the same email to xs4all servers admins

Flepser and

Marshall, again with good results.

So, after wasting 15 minutes writing some emails, we have 2 nice ca servers in central europe:

and

Delete also setup a server:

I may be missing a scandinavian server or two...

Some nice games are played on geeky's ca server, its really addictive (last one for me. lol).
We will have a worldwide clan arena league soonish. It will be 3on3, more info about it on the news. Meanwhile, if u can't find a mix, remember that CA is always good fun and easy to play. More info about clan Arena, commands and conduct, soon in our beloved wiki!

I used to be part of the last real clan arena league (stronger than all a.k.a. "STA" in north america) and just a bit of warning: competitive CA can become *very* campy.

There is a timer where everybody respawns in pent after some set amount of time each round, but this only works in dm3 and is kind of lame.

My solution is to increase health from 200/100 to 400/200, but this was never adopted in STA

even though I tested it successfully with some friends.

(To set this up, simply /elect in a clan arena server, then /setinfo health 400 and /setinfo armor 200)

Love CA (great mod). 9/10 years ago i was playing CA everyday for hours in portuguese servers with a lot of people. Mushi: remember Xuk and sicko (aka Zed)?

Was never a big fan of ClanArena, but the ECAL was entertaining. I remember Season 1 was won by Eazy (defeating Clan UK in the final). I can't remember what happened in Season 2. Might give this CA on Geeky a bash some night!
