Hi!

Omg I have a really big problem. See Iam in a Wireless Lan Connection right now. And everything is just fine, I can download files fast, can surf, can chat, and even can play CPMA, UT2k4 without a problem and even with good pings.
And now Iam trying QW (ok I tried QW first of all and after 30 seconds Ive connected to a server, ill get a 100% Packet Loss and get a Connection Timeout.
Why does only QW makes trouble. Ive tried serveral cfgs from other players, in/decreasing rate value. Changing every Network Settings like:

cl_c2sImpulseBackup "3"
cl_crypt_rcon "0"
cl_nodelta "1"
cl_nopred "0"
cl_oldPL "1"
cl_predictPlayers "1"
cl_solidPlayers "1"
cl_timeout "60"
cl_useproxy "0"

And I even used that standard cfg but nothing works. After I spawn at a Internet Server it takes 30 seconds, then I get a complete Internet Connection lost. Then I dont even can surf or do anything in the net. After 20 seconds, iam able to reconnect and surf as normal.

I really hope you can help me because I need to PLAY

thx def

Yeah it solves it in a way. Now I wont lag out anymore, but time to time there is always a big major lag now So every 30 seconds or so!

Look like your wireless link have some weird packetrate limit. QW is pretty high on packets per second. Q3, CS, UT usally have about 20-30 packets per second, while QW - 77.

Use twisted pair insteand of radio waves =:-)

Even if i remove -ruleset smackdown the client keep saying that cl_cs2spps is write protected.

How can I use that command?

Probably a bit late now but are you 100% sure it's ONLY affecting QW? As a test try running a ping for a long time, say 300 pings and see if you get any large spikes.

A common problem is that Windows has a habit of polling for wireless connections every say 1min which can cause a huge lag for a second or so. You can get round this by disabling Wireless Zero configuration in WinXP (and using your wireless chipset software to connect), or running WLAN Optimizer application in Vista.

I had this exact same problem a few years ago. Hangtime's solution is right. I had to disable Wireless Zero config and use the wireless software that came with my wireless card.
