Latest doesn't pass modified. end1-end4.mdl and g_shot.mdl Why was this changed? Where are the models from? Please test such things before you change them, all newcomers now don't pass f_modified and it's too hard for them remove/replace those files manually. I know several people having this problem.

Yes I'm one of those affected, using the nQuake 1.9 package. Hi I'm a total rook Could really do with this being resolved relatively quickly as I would like to participate in QWDL. While an automated fix would be preferable, perhaps we can get some user comments via which I try to fix the current install myself. Thanks.

Whoa. I haven't changed anything at all.
If anything, ezQuake is now working "correctly" and is detecting errors that were there before, but wasn't detectable by ezQuake.

It seems g_shot.mdl is the debugged shotgun model with PrimeviL's retexturing. I thought that model was allowed by ezQuake. I do not get the end1-4 error doing f_modified though.
A quick fix would be to remove (or rename) g_weapons.pak and runes.pak (if you get the end1-4.mdl error too) from id1 folder.

Guide to get nQuake to comply with rules: 1) Download Pak Explorer. 2) Open nQuake/qw/g_weapons.pak using Pak Explorer. 3) Remove g_shot.mdl from the progs folder (inside g_weapons.pak). 4) Remove g_shot_0.png from the models folder inside the textures folder (inside g_weapons.pak). Quick guide: 1) Remove nQuake/qw/g_weapons.pak. These guides assume you already have pak1.pak in your id1 directory (i.e. you need to buy the game!).

nQuake has been updated to latest ezQuake. It has also been modified to comply with tournament rules out of the box.

I'm planning to add addons to nQuake within the year I have already completed addons for rocket arena, ctf and team fortress, and molgrum is working on a fte spec pack addon. What else could I add? The way I'm going to implement it is by having a page on http://nquake.com/addons that opens if you check the box "Download addons" at the end of the nQuake installation. The installation of addons should be as simple as unzipping them into your nQuake directory. I could even go as far as making an nQuake addon installer.

I would really like to see a high fps addon with fullbright skins for items, weapons, armor. Have a config with stuff like r_drawflat enabled to make sure everything is easy to see and you can maintain high fps.

r_drawflat lowers fps afaik

nQuake updated with ezQuake 2.0.
Please report bugs if you find any, or suggest features/changes if you think of any.

Might wanna rename the installer file, still called nquake19_installer.exe.

The installer itself hasn't changed for like two years. It's an online installer.

Should v_weapons.pak and w_weapons.pak be added to qw/pak.lst? I noticed vweps didn't work until I did this.

Yes you have to add those to the pak.lst file so it can read them.

Hm. I'll fix that.
EDIT: Fixed!

I downloaded the new nQuake yesterday (the one updated with ezQuake 2.0) and as soon as I run it the client crashes with a typical "an error occured in the application..." error. I can only see the console for a split second, then the display goes grey (just like when the client loads) and then the error.
I decided to download ezQuake 2.0 separately from nQuake and it worked fine. I also remember that the old nQuake (the one with ezQuake 1.9.3) had no such problems, so I downloaded ezQuake 1.9.3, copied the executable to the nQuake directory, ran it and it worked fine as well.
Evidently, my system encounters a problem when it tries to run ezQuake 2.0 together with the nQuake package (ezQuake 2.0 works fine on its own). Does anyone know what may be causing the problem and how to fix it? I tried running default configs but it didn't help and like I said - 1.9.3 works fine with nQuake with the same configs present etc.
I'm using windows XP SP3, I can provide more info if its needed. Has anyone encountered this issue?
P.S. Sorry for reporting it here, but I don't know how to use the bug report feature contained in empezar's signature.

I noticed the installer creates entries in the start menu and one of them contains links. One of these links points to gfx.qwdrama.com which is dead, should be changed to http://gfx.quakeworld.nu
Keep up the good work! www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

2010-06-06 - nQuake v1.9a for Windows
* Changed Quake steam link and updated cost. * Changed URL for "Custom Graphics" start menu shortcut. * Changed nQuake project URL.
I also updated ezQuake to version 2.0.1 and fixed the frogbot bug. But that will probably not be updated on all mirrors for another day or so.
The first post of this thread has been updated with working URLs.

I should mention that after this summer (ending with august), I will not be able to update nQuake for at least a year, and more probably never.
Zalon will hopefully take over after me.

I'm trying to limit the amount of projects I'm involved with. It's taking up too much of my time - time I need for school and friends.

Should be mentioned here that the maintenance of the project was handed over to Zalon and me, so in case something is not working or needs updating, post in here or send a PM if it's rather urgent request.
There has been an issue with one non working mirror. This problem was successfully fixed yesterday.

Would it be a huge pain in the ass to make the installer check if there are already files with the same name? I recently installed it in my quake folder as I remembered it had a advanced setup style, in which you can choose what stuff is installed, but instead it overwrote every file it had.

Would it be a huge pain in the ass to make the installer check if there are already files with the same name? The installer just downloads a bunch of zip files and then extract them into the directory you chose.... Making a check like that doesn't seem that simple to do.
