Just curious -- I've been playing quite a bit again after an 8 year exodus (with occasional keep-the-rust-off sessions) but I'm completely out of the scene. I see a lot of noob friendly stuff going on which is great, but I feel like I'm kind of stuck in the middle -- too good to get involved in the rookie league stuff and too far removed from the scene to get into the rest of it.
Are there any clans for somebody like me who can hold his own but isn't quite up to par with the pros? I used to be pretty damn good, I played back in 1996 in Respawn, which was tied pretty closely to Doppelganger. We played quite a few games with the top clans and even gave Wicked Demise a few back and forth games back then. I miss 4v4 games so much, nothing was ever as fun as QW clan matches. Is there even much of a clan scene anymore?

The North American QW scene doesn't exactly seem to be on the rise. I'm not quite sure how many active team players there still are, but for now I suggest you check out #american on QuakeNet. It was originally the channel for American QW clan 'American Gangsters', but has somewhat become a hangout for the entire North American QW scene. Or plan B: Move to Europe, because there's still lots going on around here. _________________________________________________________ Save a cow, crucify a christian!

or plan E: devote your life to investigating faster than light communications and probably fail miserably and become a bitter shell of a man.

I'll take plan "E", please. Chicks dig the mad scientist type. I think the key lies within the use of a flux capacitor.

its gotta start somewhere....make a team. sign up for eql. play with high ping.
there are two american teams playing in eql right now....
the dojo and oclan
if we eventually get enough american teams playing in eql...i'm sure we will get a division like in the past.

I would go for it... the pickings are slim, so I guess the best way to go for it would be to say "hey if you want to join a clan, you're in". So here ya go:
If any NA players want to join a team for EQL, email me at sexysucks@yahoo.com. Once I get a few responses we'll setup a time for everybody to meet and discuss on IRC.
