so i'm posting this here in the hope that some knowledgeable person can either do this for me (& the community!) or can give some hints as to how this could be done.
the problem is the v_wep model for the shotgun. it's pretty ugly to say the least. see these pics for proof, it's especially obvious if you compare it with the ssg model in the last picture- it's just not up to standard compared to the rest of the models.
this wouldn't be a problem if a) vwep wouldn't get more and more popular on servers and b) this would be about the model for e.g. the nailgun. unfortunately this concerns the most used weapon in the game and the model is visible in 9 of 10 cases when speccing a player.
this would have a big visual impact when playing on/ speccing vwep enabled servers and also would be a great help for moviemakers that wouldn't have to worry about the vwep models looking bad in the movie. actually i could use a better model in the short movie that i'm working on ATM, hmm
So - we need a new one! i have no idea how much work this means, maybe it's not such a big problem and you can use some other model as a blueprint (i think Trickle did this with his very nice looking RL vwep model..). Or maybe one of the resident QW graphic gurus - you know who you are - can put their talent to use and come up with something??
