I'm wondering if qw community needs qw version of q3 map called cpm4. I'm going to do this but firstly I want to know if there's any requirement for this. I don't want to do a map which nobody won't to play at. So, I created a poll. If most people will vote yes, I'll start to do this map. Any opinions are welcome. Regards

yea, i had a talk with someone about those cpm maps in q3, they are aaaawsome! would like to see phrantic to qw to!

I'm not sure, many of the CPM maps are top notch just because the game has double jumps included. I always feel so crippled when playing QW on them. ;'(

Double-jump problem can be fixed to some degree by wisely used ramps. Lundm1 is perfect example how many possibilities they add. I'm not big fan of this cpm4, but yes, it will be great to have it in QW.

cpm4 was very good for 4v4 q3tdm. Should work for ffa atleast.

I must say that I'm surprised. I thought most people say: " I don't want any new map especially from sucky q3" I can see that there is some requirement for this map, although there is only 15 votes in the poll. Map needs to be rescaled, cause q3 maps are much bigger than qw one. To imitate double jumps its of course possible to make some nice ramps which will help to move fast and smooth through the map. So, it seems there is a lot of work to do for me, but it's big pleasure, cause I like this job. I'll wait for more comments and votes, we'll se what more people think about this, then I'll finally decide to start this project or not.

I'd say make a version of it that is just like the original for CPMA (perhaps adjust the scale to be more Quakeworldish) and then see what the map plays like - maybe it's good that you're "crippled" in Quakeworld in the doublejump aspect. Also, something you won't be able to reproduce even with ramps are the doublejumps you can do when going through a teleporter for example. www.facebook.com/QuakeWorld

I hate cpm4 I really would like to see a q3dm14tmp version for qw! There is one! Qurnel's made it! But what I know it was a beta version, he never released final one!

What I don't like is all these uber small maps on an ffa server. A map shouldn't be too big ofcourse, but not too small either for ffa. I mean, on xs4all there's often 20 people playing dm4, which is ridiculous.
If it's a dual map, then please keep it on a dual server. Makes sense to me.
Also: when you want to simulate q3 maps, then you should clip the stairs so it will be a ramp instead of stopping your straferun/circlejump. Q3 is filled with invisible clip brushes. I think all Quakes are, except Q1.

I don't think so, it's a pretty good tdm map, but who would play it on qw ?

It's not that Q2/3 has clip brushes on their stairs, it's that they allow you to step up a stair without being on the ground. The option to replicate this behaviour is present in modern QW as pm_airstep
