I used to play Quakeworld TF about 9 years ago....

I'm assuming the number of players is pretty low now especially in Australia.

The community used to be so big years ago before quake 2, 3, 4, UT and HL CS.

Even a year ago it was about triple the size it is now. The release of TF2 sparked a substantial qwtf revival, there were qwtf games every night, and I saw a few 8on8s : )! But since the iPGN servers are temporarily down theres no tf servers.
Come play some dm, theres always plenty of duels, some 2on2s every night, and if you're lucky some 4on4s. Add me on msn, yofoe.runamok at gmail.com.

why don't you guys just use irc?

Australians don't seem too fond of IRC, MATE. They prefer hanging around at the Serv-o drinking ECKS ECKS ECKS ECKS and celebrating the fact that they're good at boring, archaic, colonial sports such as cricket.

AU QWTF was massively IRC based but it's totally dead now afaik.

iPGN Team Fortress servers are back online! quakeworld.ipgn.com.au:27506, quakeworld.ipgn.com.au27507. The long downtime has probably killed all the qwtf activity though...
