Looking to come back to QW but I'm as thick as I ever was when it comes to setting the game up, perhaps 50 is too old to be expecting the vitamins to make a diff ffs
Has anyone got my old PITBULL skin filed away, would make me a better target if I wore it

Welcome to the QuakeWorld.nu forum, PuffeR. I reckon someone mentioned they had some skins archive from back in the days and found this link; http://www.quaketerminus.com/tools/250Quake1Skins.zip Perhaps you'll find what you're looking for in there. Nowadays the use of skins isn't that common unfortunately - most people use highly visible skins to get as much of a clear view of the player as possible in the field.
Regarding setting up QW again i suggest you use nQuake if you don't already; http://www.nquake.com - it's a package with about everything you need to play QW.
In any case; welcome back!

Cheers Vader
I must admit I was a fan of the picmip, florescent skins and all the other gfx tweeks but that was more to lessen the burden on my pc than the eyes. I expect most don't have dl skins on anyway
I am still unable to get servers to show in ez's browser but I'm sure I have just placed the sv docs in the wrong place. bring back ASE
Anyway, cheers for the WB

Some quality skins in that download! I specifically wondered if the Ronald McDonald skin was included, sure enough.. it was there.

Yo Puffah
I have a pitbull.pcx file in my skins dir, dated 1998. I don't even have anything that opens pcx files any more so its a complete mystery to me what's on it!

Even though the EZq browser should work, a nice substitute for that or ASE is GameScanner: www.bdamage.se
I personally prefer to use an external browser like this so I can see who's online BEFORE I start Quake. GameScanner also has all the features you'd expect, like connecting as spectator, pinging servers, marking servers as fav, add players to buddy list, etc. And it's still a lean package, easy to setup and doesn't do things behind your back. 100% freeware.
