http://media.putfile.com/Player-28 (short video clip of some rough animation) model not finished yet and only have about 40 frames of animation done which is really slow since its the first time i have tried to rig and animate anything. its at a little less than 2000 triangles at the moment and a baked skylight for the texture. trying to keep this very similar to the original and basically just copying the animations from the original too. hoping i can finish this but i have a pretty poor track record.. posting here to get a fresh eye on any mistakes i may be making.

wow impressive, he moves like the orginional model which i like. looking really hot.
i think the knee caps should be a little lower

maybe add his axe on his back, NOT TO BIG eventhough i like it the way it is now. And there is something about his arm movements when he gets hit. Try to make that a bit smoother

just a crappy 20 min temp texture because i get sidetracked a lot don't worry about it actually looking like that lowered his knee pads but it was after. other than that i am trying to figure out how to get the shoulders to deform well without turning in to a pile of crap in the death animations when his arms go above his head. remodeled the shoulders several times and tried it as a seperate object not really sure how to handle it yet modeling for animation is totally new to me. did a few more animations as well.. will put up the .bip files for character studio when it is done in case someone else makes a player model. might help might not i barely know what im doing to get the animation done. >

wow, quite a nice texture, but i still think the knee caps are way to high (maybe make the boots less high, the knee caps are almost as high as his penis ) . And add a bit more muscle the arms so he will look a bit stronger.

lowered it after i took that shot is what i meant > the arms look skinny because there is no texture on the back side at all just black.

give him an eye cup and a popeye grin. or maybe not. also his arms are too far out from his body, it looks like his arms are mounted onto his body. and please give him a big cock, everybody knows qw players have the biggest cocks. otherwise, it's looking awesome

mean bastards it was only to have something to look at in game checking the movement i wouldn't spend just 20 minutes for a texture on the finished one hehe. is md3 support in ezquake still being worked on? when i play back a 4on4 mvd with a player model like that in it i can't even get 77fps on a 3.8ghz cpu and shading problems as well.. in fte it works fine though and i could even get 100fps viewing the entire level with pretty much all effects on. by the way i think those are actually thigh pads http://www.sportsnmore.com/football/images/adams/thigh/tl950.jpg

http://media.putfile.com/Skipper-99 short clip and another fast random texture hes also missing an arm and a foot because im half way through uv mapping. trying to keep the uv layout simple in case someone else wants to make a skin.. after the uv mapping i'm going to start on the animation again. the biggest problem i have is trying to get the shoulders to work well in death animations but at least i have been learning a lot of new crap.

while skinning have you considered making your texture cordinates the same shape as the original? so you could use old skins, that would be a really good feature witch i have been thinking about for the player model

had it like that at the start but i think its pretty limiting to the possible quality and also other skins most likely going to look weird with the base skin's armor being modeled.. and waiting for your models i keep checking your thread.
