<Spirit> i like it
<Spirit> it's the best remodel so fa
<Spirit> r
<Spirit> of the quakeguy
<Asaki> It might look decent when he finishes it.
<Asaki> Still got a lot of work to go, though.
<LordHavoc> Spirit: I agree it's the best so far, but it also needs more work
<Spirit> yeah
<Spirit> so you guys should tell him your thoughts
<Asaki> It looks like he hasn't even skinned the gloves yet.
<Spirit> or post them here and i'll post them at qw.nu
<Asaki> It also suffers from the same problems as every single other Quake remake ever: not gritty and dirty enough.
<LordHavoc> Spirit: and I can't even figure out what he had in mind with the pants/shirt textures, they're greyscale alpha tga (a format I have never seen in my life, and it's not even defined in the targa spec), and for some reason the base skin has the pants/shirt pixels in it as well (that does NOT work)
<LordHavoc> Asaki: the skin is too bright too, I had to manipulate the brightness levels a lot in my DP compatible version
<Spirit> heh
<LordHavoc> Asaki: well I should say, the base skin is too bright, the pants/shirt are too dark
<Asaki> Heh.
<LordHavoc> Asaki: (off by 2x on each!)
<Asaki> The mirroring job isn't too bad, but I can really notice the seam on the pants and the helmet.
<Asaki> There's something...off about the boots...not sure what...but I guess they were always kinda funky to begin with.
<Asaki> And I hope he makes the hands look less like mittens when he finishes them
<Asaki> I think that's all I got.
<Asaki> "Not gritty enough" being the most immediate thing I notice. It's like when you compare the player skin in QTest to the final version.
<Asaki> But I guess it's not easy to get that honest dirty look just right.
<Asaki> Q3 sure as heck couldn't do it
... (non related)
