Hi guys!
Started out a map just for fun a couple of years ago and putted up thread so you guys could betatest it. (http://www.quakeworld.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4030)

The map never got finished sadly becouse my computer coudnt simply handle it anymore (got to laggy when i was trying to build).

Now i kinda feel like finish it. I got a problem though, my comp is still to slow , but i guess its my buildingskills that is the big fail...

What things are slowing a map down during building? (im using the program QuArK for building maps and have always used it), I tend to put out a million lights (is that something that slows down?).
I never use the 6 first blocks on a "new map" (should same blocks be used to build the outer frame of the entire map?).
The map bugged out in the middle and i think it was light or vis program that didnt wanna execute so i searched and found a modded one that worked so i could continue.

What you guys think im doing wrong while building this maps or is it simply bad program/slow comp? (intel E5200 (dual), ati4850, 4gb ram) feels like the comp should be fast enough atleast :/.

Hopefully someone with a little more exp can help me out!.
Thx guys /Johan

That looks so great, I remember playing a beta of that!

I guess the building takes ages on the VIS stage? You can use a multi-threaded VIS tool that should be at least 2 times quicker. http://www.quaddicted.com/tools/wvis_20100119.7z (7-zip is a free and open source format, http://www.7-zip.org if you need an unpacker).

Maybe you have leaks or a lot of funky architecture/brushes? QuArK loves doing that to me.

If you want, send me the QuArK map source (my nickname @ quaddicted.com) and I will take a look at it some of the next days. Maybe I can notice something, no promises.

Sagge, you should post your question here:

You don't have to register in order to post as far as I know. Those guys will probably ask you to upload the .map file so they can have a look at it.
