yeah i checked s1k's demo it looks fine... the only problem is you did not use the LGC zip..

Eh , I guess I'm wrong then. Are you using an earlier version of the bot? It's aim and movement seem alot cruddier in comparison to the bots from everyone elses demos. Or maybe I'm just imagining things Anyway , good job on only allowing it to get 75 frags.

Some ppl like s1k and react used old fbca. I think !phil must delete these demos. Becourse with old fbca there are much easy to get more frags cos bot can't get as much frags as new one. Use lgc.zip plz.

1) will you apply vb's quakec patch to make the lg knockback equivalent to qw? link

2) can ezquake be added as permitted client?

Unless someone voices a very strong argument against it, ezQuake is allowed.

I will update the rules to reflect this change later. Sorry for any inconvenience about that.

As for the patch: I have read about it and would love to use it. However, I don't have the sources.. is it a straight patch to qwprogs.dat ? because thats all I have from parboil.

If someone can supply me the actual patch sources, I might be able to get parboil to implement them.

Also, I think react used the correct bot. I might be mistaken. I'll look into the demo later.

abaddon: thanks. I will implement this, but this will invalidate all the demos. So I will probably start a new season (with new leaders!) next week.

I too can't get demos uploaded with Opera browser. It just says "uploading" but nothing actually happens.

So do not use opera browser!!!! Use firefox or msie.

I use Opera because it is the best browser for me (I will never use IE). Uploaded my demos with firefox though.

And yes, ilf is botting this time too. Now he has just introduced random movement in aim but it is still a bot.

I am redoing some of the code in the lgc qwprogs.dat to combat certain kinds of cheats (not just aimbots). It will also include the LG knockback patch.

It will be online later this week, with a new 'season': new leader board and if you want to be in the new season, you will have to re-do your demo with the new lgc

Yeah, I patched the qwprogs.dat for using lg knockback with multiplier 8 instead of 11. Now it feels much more like QW.

What will happen to people playing lgc?

First, dfrags and lg% will increase since it's easier to aim/move when being hit (ie. you are not pushed away from enemy so the effective range is much easier to keep)

Second, you can say bye bye for getting bot air behind the camp-bar(s), pushback is nowhere near enough to get those any more.

Third, it will be easier frag bot in the air since it won't be getting lots of speed to maneuver and run away from your aim (midair).


So, the overall feeling of qw is now restored and it really feels like you're playing against really bad moving player that has aimbot

I won't be sending any more demos now since I have that qwprogs.dat modified, so no worries about me cheating. I'll be waiting for that "official" release.
