It has been a while since a major QW movie production has been released so it might be time for a new one now.
I don't have a real name for it yet but something like 'QW Trib(e)ute' might do it.
You if you have some good demo's (with their action times) contact me on irc at various quakeworld channel But, I only want the really really really good stuff. Because we've got enough qw movies availible already.
So, I'm just coining this idea of a new movie and give you time to carry in your demos and idea's. We'll see what happens to them...
To make it differ a bit from the standard qw video we could add some interesting parts that highlight some community/engine highlights. I also thought about a nquake setup part at the end of the video but since you then still need a pak1.pak this is fail. We should collectiveley gather enough money to buy ID over to release Q1 as freeware... :-)
Anyway... I myself really like the composing music/frag syncs, I dont want to put too much effort in using camquake, but if someone is willing to step in here I'll be glad.

looks like a "dream" in movies, with some light filter over it Yeah I I'd recorded the same demo 3 times, 1 normal recording, 1 without textures and almost black everything but items/models and one with almost white. To bad r_bloom seems bugged, I 'd really like to use that!

I disliked idea of seriously limiting visibility of frags themselves. I.e. I'd like to see clearly how rocket hits the target.
P.S. You can add bloom effect in your video editor. -- "Dag eats little Reloads for breakfast." (c) :-)

Hmm yeah I forgot to enable a crosshair but for the rest I don't really think the flashes are blocking the view that much, cause it's clear the player shoots the enemy down with a shotgun after all. I do agree that if these flashes occur all the time the effect will be too epeleptic indeed. This video was just an example of a highlight can can occor once in a while.
The bloom effect you possibly can do with the video-editing software != ingame bloom. Because video editor = 2D, while ezquake has 3D info aswell.

If you guys want a follow up on QH-lan Video 1 & 2 then get me the demos and some times already! :-) @ unreal, after I adjusted the opacity of the flash effect a bit, it did looked a lot better. And... I'm looking for some bsp's or mdl's... The following ammo boxes displayed below and I'm looking for a polished quad/pent model too.

Because video editor = 2D, while ezquake has 3D info aswell. The game might have depth info, but that's not useful for bloom. You'll get better results from the video editor (this is true for both ezquake and fte, which both have basically the same bloom implementation, though you may want to set gamma 1;contrast 1; before recording).

Ooh yeah adjusting contrast and gamma values did intensified the lighting in a map some more.... especially the lowering of the contrast.
and... eh... if you adjust the contast/gamma, will some color-ranges be lost/simplified? SO gamma just shifts it and high/low colors get 'squashed' and for the contrast the whole color range gets 'cluttered'?
Hmm the only option with bloom my vid-editor has is the 'defocus' fx, and that fails. When I look at the bloom in quake it looks just a bit like it used some 3D info, can an engine dev verify spike's statement?

Just make sure you make it 60fps!

Eh currently I'm recording it 60 fps, but just for the casual slowmotions, end result will be 30fps...
... but i just tested replacing the 60fps recordings with 120fps and it worked fine, even without noticable slowdown of the video-editing preview.

Its like 10sec avi/mvd With just the frag! So should be easy to turn them in! Or i can give you the demos if you want diffrent settings

Yeah just mail me the demos with the time(s) (and playernames) of those frags. Demo's because I need to capture each frag at least 2 times for special fx and also for some occasional camming, and just for the gfx consistency

not necessarily. All good stuff worth watching is welcome!

At least if you'll send em...... so, just keep me in mind!\ And I still need those improved item models.

Does anybody know how to set a custom color for a team? Because when I go camming, the team colors go all enemy. I can fix this by disable team colors/skins but then i have no controls about the colors anymore... which is ugly/confusing for the viewers!
Another question... How to +jump/swimup in freecam mode when replaying a demo?

Use teamlock, that should do what you want

I was going to suggest hex editing the player's setinfo in the demo, but that makes it easier...
Anyone willing to sit through > 1,000 trick demos to get the good & unused ones are welcome to my demos on CHTV lol

Thnx Zalon that worked!
I've got another visial thing that annoys me. When a player hovers over a teammate it will display health/armor/rl stats for a lil while. Also I experienced once when I demo_jumped somewhere it showed the countdown/gameinfo text in middle of screen. The time where I jumped to was irrelevant.

you can move that stuff away from your screen with e.g. scr_centershift -999

you can move that stuff away from your screen with e.g. scr_centershift -999 He should be using scr_centertime 0 instead, that will hide all centerprints
