Hello!

i am very interested in the distance of cm you all use for a full 360° turn.
please post your value and a explanation why you have stick to it.
g9x, 5500 dpi, 1000hz

I am using 14 cm, for the movement stuff i use my whole arm, if i come infight i slightly press down my wirst and aim only with it. i have some times the small finger on pad to break a bit.
I am intereseted in the technics how you exactly use and hold the mouse. such theories are not "generaly" for me, i would like to hear what special tricks you are using.
(in case you are brave enough to share )

i had 80cm on a core pad cloth 90x45 cm, it was like driving a tank but quick flickshots where not possible. at the other side, you where able to hit the rocket exactly between eyes, if you had the time for it . i have reduced to 60cm, 40cm, 28cm and 21cm. at 21 cm i was still not quick enough in my aim. so i have changed it to 10cm but that was to imprecise for me.
now i am at 14 cm and it fees pretty right to me. still, against some players it looks to slow for me. some times i feel to incrase sens mid game

10.7cm/360 RL and all other weapons
11.5cm/360 LG only

MX518 @ 500hz, Razer Goliathus pad

Why I use this sens? It just feels good
BF3, TF2 and other games I use lower sens around 20cm/360.

9.5cm for all weapons.
G400 @ 1000hz @ 800dpi

It's not about hitting them in the eye, it's about being able to find a balance in your ability to aim and maneuver at the same time. I found that holding my wrist steady and stretching my hand to the left side, moving it to the right side in a circular movement, I need to do a full 360 turn in quake. That's a good compromise for me. Enables me to do quick 180 turns without having so high sens I can't control my lg.

But it's very subjective really. bps and zero both have very low sensitivity and Milton/carapace have very high... you don't see any of them having problems with either lg/rl or movement.

Would be fun to see if they could play as well with a sens opposite of their own settings.. ie. fast instead of slow visa versa.

I think also your sens can affect your playstyle. A fast sens makes you play more aggressive and have great mobility, while a low sens makes you play little more "ninja" and defensive. Placebo perhaps?

6cm for all weapons. (although I don't have a ruler but it is a good estimate)
G400 @ 1000Hz @ 3600dpi

Para, curiously, why do yo use 800dpi over 3600dpi on your G400? You been talking to Sobol about the native DPI and interpolation etc?

I use this sense because I much prefer high sensitivity. Previously when choosing a sensitivity I would practice dmm4 and then choose the highest sense I could accurately shaft with however when I installed nQuake at the end of November last year I used the default nQuake sensitivity... and pretty much kept it

There are 2 "flick shots" I use on dm4 that require high sensitivity giving low sense users a disadvantage.

Para you would probably benefit form higher dpi because your sens is high. You can calculate how many dpi you need here http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html I think you need a bit more than 800dpi but I'm not 100% sure.

terrorhead: using that site and putting in my values actually gave me the correct answer of 9.8cm for 360 degrees. Furthermore it recommends me to use a DPI value of 763, so as lucky as I may have been I think I'm using the exact correct settings for my sensitivity

Actually I changed to 800 based on another FPS gaming mouse sensitivity guide that I can't find atm. That recommended to use lower DPI for FPS gaming, and when I say lower, I mean about 800 and a little higher, as opposed to using the insane high DPI values like 3000-6000 like some gaming mice are capable of today.

In this case at least, more does not seem to be better - where as we strife to always push the limits for more FPS, hz on mouse, hz on screen etc. when it comes other things.

Zowie EC1, 1000 hz, 13 cm/360 turn for all weapons except LG, 500 DPI (changed 2 days ago from 2000 DPI), palm grip, Razer Goliathus Control mat. I plan to get Zowie EC1 Evo when it becomes available here. I use 20% lower sens for LG.

I've read on overlock forum tons of info and I've come to a conclusion that I have to lower my DPI. 2000 DPI actually feels a bit wobbly comparing to 500DPI. It also has a little of jitter so 500 DPI seems flawless so far.
I used to have 30 cm/360 when I used IE 3.0 and DeathAdder 1800 v2 (400 dpi/1800 DPI) which were great mice fo low sens gamers. But when I switched to Zowie I also had to change my sens. Higher sens pays off in 4/4 because there is a lot of situation where you're being chased or cornered and have to react faster than in duels.
I barely move my wrist, I rather use my forearm.

According to what I've read about G400 Paradoks is right with his DPI. G400 is said to work flawlessly with 800 DPI, just like DA is the best with 1800 DPI, Zowie AM with 450 DPI.

generaly, what dpi would be good for g9x? i heard that you have on almost all mices some strange accel bugs if you use over 1000dpi, also it should be very good to have only one dpi step and one profile in it to get best results.

Kloze who said 1800 dpi is the best with DA? I use 900 and it feels perfectly fine? With 1800 it gets more "shaky" imo.

That's the general consensus drawn upon reading threads like this one - http://www.overclock.net/t/1128321/the-deathadder-megathread

I recommend it to all DA users, great info. However, DA is such a good mouse that you may not even notice the difference in DPI. Perhaps run a paint test to see if there' any jitter on those DPI steps etc.

For a long time I was playing with 4.2cm/turn.
Now it is 12 cm/turn.
I do not think I started to shoot better. Only jumping on zjumps easier.
The problem with low sensitivity is that it demands many free space on the table.

About 6-8 cm for me.

I've stuck to it because turning 180 degrees feels natural with this sensitivity.

As with empezar when setting things I up I go for 180 flicks and this is what feels about right.
I do have an objective to try and reduce my sens somewhat however. Might also try reducing dpi a bit, that site recommends something around 1700dpi for my setup.

Cheap four-button, 500hz, 800cpi, ~26 cm for a 360

I use big sweeps with the arm, and adjustments with the wrist. Thumb buttons fire sg and lg/sng, index finger fires rl/ssg, long finger +jump (other weapons on keyboard). Huge mousepad with low friction.

I stick to it because it's easy to do a 180 turn with such a pad. Low sens is lovely for bunnying and aiming. I've tried lots of different sens settings, all the way from ~5cm/360 to ~50, and ~26 cm is a good compromise for me
