I just re-discovered this old tv clip; it was a feature that the Danish tv channel TV2 made in their news coverage about Quake 1 and clan wars. As far as I remember, it is from 1996 or perhaps very early 1997 - but I lean towards 1996. NBI-Garfield is one of the guys in the video, and he founded NBI (Nasty Beasts Inc.) and was one of the founders of QuakeNet as well.

QW has come a long way! Finnish TV show Tilt! hosted a QW tournament back in 1997. Parts of it can be seen at Spessu83's Youtube channel. The host of the show now works in finnish parliament so she's come a long way too.
