VWEP enabled servers?

As some of you might have noticed, on some servers your client tries to download certain VWEP models. These models will show you what weapon player is carrying and it looks pretty cool.

So VWEP basically means "visible weapon model". You can get the VWEP models from:

http://qwplayers.org/oldman/vwep-mdls.zip

Place the models to your \quake-installdir\qw\progs to get them working properly.

Note that currently these seem to work when watching demos or EZTV stream, not during gaming (unless the server is configured otherwise).

Come on, fire up Photoshop, draw a circle, change to opacity to 50%, add a cross with opacity 100% on a new layer and save as PNG 24b with transparency enabled... How hard is that?
