We got a brief update from the crew behind the
QuakeWorld Duel League, one of the biggest duel events in QuakeWorld.
The league itself is over, meaning no more matches are going to be played. The current standings, however, are not final yet. Read on for more info about what will happen next and what's the situation in Div Zero.
There was some information vacuum for last couple of weeks, also the site was temporarily down last few days. But now it's back online and we can check that one of the last matches played was
Div Zero match Gamer vs.
eh and was played on 21st November.
Vloody took his time explaining the current situation about the league. There are unplayed matches which means that significant amount of points are to be given out in walk-overs. This will be all done semi-automatically once the main man behind the whole site,
Grump, returns from his - hopefully short - break. Rules talk clearly about
walk-overs. If players still want to request a walk-over, they should post a comment under the appropriate Match Info page.
The rules also talk clearly about
point deductions. The site system automatically monitored players' activity and calculated point deduction for inactivity from that. The amount of these points should already be visible to everyone on the match pages. However these will applied no sooner than the walk-overs are given out.
After that we will know the final standings, which for example in Div Zero are following:
1.
reppie (26 pts)
2.
LocKtar (23 pts)
3.
Gamer (20 pts)
4.
marklar(fifi) (19 pts)
5.
locust (17.55 pts)
One thing is certain and that's who gets which
special award. Go there to check who is the biggest LG beast, Camper, Pain Giver, Spawn Rapist, Spammer, God of Prediction and many others.
So the crew hopes it's leader
Grump returns and settles all this final things.
We should be looking forward for
next season of QWDL which was planned to start somewhere around middle of
January 2009 and as we know the seedings will be based on the results of this first season.
