For those who missed it, season 2 of the duel league
Ownage, started it's qualification round yesterday. The tournament didn't quite get to the number of signups as it's previous incarnation, but after a very idle summer break, 150 players is a quite good turnout.
Partnership with Tastyspleen.tvTo cover the 128 player QuakeWorld tournament, QuakeWorld.nu have made a partnership deal with
Tastyspleen.tv to, in cooperation do live coverage of the upcoming matches.
Read on for a list of top players participating in Ownage and more about the partnership.

For quite some time, QuakeWorld.nu has been doing live commentary for high profile matches, we have with different commentators covered more than 100 notable matches. In our attempt to keep up with similar games, we've kept building on - and expanding our live coverage. We've had live interviews, "talk-shows", build ups to finals, and for a while now, a
live stream.
While some of the attempts were made to advertise QuakeWorld outside of our small community, we feel that we have always kept true to the wishes of our core audience, the QuakeWorld players.
To further build on some of the ideas we have for the shows, we've teamed up with
Tastyspleen.tv. The crew from Tastyspleen runs a show called the Tastyspleen Tastycast, where they have covered Quake2 matches, had talk shows, interviews and reviews for mods, maps and projects in the Quake, Quake2 and Doom communities.
In the past it was limited to an audio stream, but recently they started steaming live video. One of the main crew members
Jehar recently visited QuakeCon were he did live coverage together with
QuakeLive.tv. Together with Jehar, and Tastyspleen.tv we hope to do more quality casts of QuakeWorld games, and at the same time open up our community to more people.
This doesn't mean that we will be changing the way we do live coverage, you will still get in-sync audio via
Mumble, a
live stream and commentary packs. The idea is just to do it more often.
Hopefully we will also be able to both bring back familiar voices, and get some new ones on the mike!
As always, if
ANYONE is interested in contributing as a commentator, don't hesitate to contact me (Zalon), on IRC
