Earlier today
Dopeskillz revealed that a brand new instance of the famous Duelmania 1on1 tournament has just opened up for player registrations. This time we look forward to see if
Rikoll can defend his title or if runner-up
Bps & co. can stop him from plowing through the competition this time.
This season will as usual feature a double elimination system where the games are battled out on the classic maps DM2, DM4, DM6, Aerowalk and ZTNDM3 in a best of three maps series. More information can be found either on the Duelmania website or in the #Duelmania channel on Quakenet IRC.
Head on over to the Duelmania website to sign up!
everyone uses alpha clients now to get around some bugs, and the ruleset requirements have changed completely since that was written.
As for the ping rules, do we really still need a rule more complicated than, excluding server-specific packet loss problems, people should play with equal pings if they're both considered to be in Europe? For example, as the rule stands, if I put up some shitty server in Ireland then I can play with equal ping vs random Hungarians without problem. Otherwise I'm stuck with a minimum of 26ms disadvantage against my Central European brothers. Why should someone's unwillingness to put up a server near them actually hurt their tournament chances? That seems like a ridiculous requirement.
