One of the first Norwegian clans, along with Spawn Clan. Founded in 1996.
History
The Vicious Vikings was originally formed by a group of Norwegians, led by BM. The core members grew up in the same neighborhood, and had been playing Quake via LAN since the test-release. They founded their own clan after hearing about clans in the US, as one of the - if not the - first in Norway. It was never the best Norwegian clan, and far from it, but probably the biggest, with at least 30 members at one point. The acitivity and the clan slowly declined around 2000 along with the general QW scene.
The infamous AskerLANs were arranged by The Vicious Vikings in Asker, Norway. The first one i 1997 (report from AskerLAN I here) turned out to be a huge success and spawned about 10 more LAN-parties around Asker the next couple of years. For more information, see these pages about AskerLAN III, AskerLAN V, AskerLAN VI, AskerLAN VII and AskerLAN VIII. (The report from AskerLAN II seems to be lost.)
