In distant 2004, someone from the government decided to get involved in eSports and organized the "Union of Cyber Sports" (SCS). (Союз Кибер Спорт). After the establishment of this organization, some of the QW players approached them and the first (and unfortunately the only) QuakeWorld championship was held. There were two nominations - 1on1 and 2on2, but in the 1on1 category there was a mini championship for low-skilled players.
Unfortunately, the losers' finals and the grand final were not played in the 1x1 category, now I can't remember why.
Of note is the participation of a player from Norway - Bionic13 . He lived in Moscow at that time... either studying or working.
