Formerly a QuakeWorld TeamFortress clan founded by Drutt and Mhael in 1998. With QWTF scene diminishing in 2005 Chosen also picked up a QWDM squad and has been one of the most active teams in the scene ever since.

Yearly summary

2005

With players losing interest in Teamfortress players from Chosen forms a QWDM sqaud and signs up for NQR 8 in the spring of 2005. Clan leader is Term and other active notable players are Votary, Ovderdose, Puh and Bambuz. CSN end up in division 5A where they consequently lose all 5 games they play and miss the playoffs.

Best player: Tmt 40 frags per map

Most active player: Puh 100% activity

During the summer Chosen pick up alot of new players including Hooraytio, Fisto, Kalma, DjRun, Naali, 187 and Ganon while losing Votary and Overdose. The reason for the heavy recruting is the upcoming EQL with its first ever season. During EQL 1 Chosen plays in division 4 and manages to reach 3rd place. EQL didnt have playoffs for the lower divisions during the first seasons but instead promotion and relegation games for the top/bottom clans of the different divisions. At third place in division 4 CSN just missed out to qualify for division 3 next season. No stats available from EQL page.

In the fall of 2005 and spring of 2006 Chosen also played a staggering 63 games in the NQR Winter Ladder 2. The results, Winning 23 out of 63 games, MW 64, ML 88, landed them a 3rd place in this practice tournament.

2006

2006 saw heavy action from CSN participating in 3 EQL seasons, NQR 9 and second half of the NQR Winter Ladder 2.

The first tournament was EQL 2 and compared to their lineup in EQL 1 Chosen added Kias and Roque while losing Ganon. Chosen was added to division 4A where they ended up in 4th place just short of the qualification games once again. During the season they relied heavily on Hooraytio, Kalma, 187 and Fisto with Roque and Term making a few appearances. No stats available from EQL page.

Next up was NQR 9 wich saw Chosen in group B of the Bronze tier. Compared to EQL 2 Chosen added Boney but didnt lose any important players. When the group stage was over Chosen was the top team in their group and reached the Bronze Premier Playoffs. The quarterfinal against Pimps ended with a 2-1 victory for CSN but in the semifinal Demolition Crew was too strong and sent CSN packing after a 3-2 result. That game was also one of many tight games between CSN and DC throughout the different seasons. There was no bronze game so CSN shared the 3rd place in the playoffs with UK clan MOR.

Best player: Hooraytio 46 frags per map

Most active player: Kalma 100% activity

In the meantime EQL 3 was started and naturally CSN joined the ranks. This time they ended up in division 4B and theur lineup was similar to the oned used in NQR 9. In 5 games CSN only lost one, 0-2 against MOR, and ended up in second place in their group. EQL had now added playoffs and in the quarterfinals CSN faced off against A2K2. After some drama Racersnigeln was allowed to join A2K2 and helped them to a 2-1 victory kicking CSN out of the division 4 playoffs. No stats available from EQL page.

EQL 4 once again saw Chosen in division 4 but no groups this time so all division 4 clans ended up in one larger division. This was great for the overall activity and the clans in division 4 played an average of 7 games per clan out of 8 possible games. Czech player Flamer had previously expressed an interest to join CSN and when his chance came up he took it together with Greendog and formed one of the best lineups of early CSN history. Things went well and CSN once again ended up on top of their division and entered the division 4 playoffs in the semifinal against SD.P. The game was close but in the end CSN won 3-1 and were through to the final against MOR. MOR shocked CSN by winning the first map but after that CSN just steamrolled them to a 3-1 victory. First time CSN stood as champions of a division in EQL. During the season CSN played really well on CMT4, much thanks to Greendog who was somewhat of an expert on the map in question. No stats available from EQL page.

2007

During 2007 there were two main tournaments that CSN took part in, EQL 5 and NQR 10. Both tournaments took part in the first half of 2007 and by now players like Pyta, Donut and Eriko (mythic) had joined while Greendog left.

In EQL 5 CSN managed to end up in 3rd place in division 3 but the playoffs was a disappointment as CSN progressed on WO against Paranoia in the semifinal. The the final against Ballistic was never played so CSN and BST shared the EQL 5 division 3 victory. The core of the team had now shifted somewhat and the bulk of the games was played by Hooraytio, Kalma and Eriko while 187 didnt play any games at all. Pyta also had a good start in his first season with CSN and more and more became a part of the teams steady lineup.

Best player: Pyta 44 frags per map

Most active player: Mythic 78% activity

NQR 10 was tough on CSN as they ended up in the Silver tier group A. Out of 7 games they only won 1 2-1 against CMT. Even though they played well on E1M2 in most of the games it wasnt enough to reach playoffs as they only managed 2 more map wins aside from the win against CMT. Hooraytio, Kalma, 187 and Term saw most of the action in NQR 10 with fisto and Flamer making a few appearances.

Best player: Mythic 46 frags per map

Most active players: Kalma and Term 82% activity

2008

2008 was the most active year for CSN with 258 played maps according to the CSN stats page. Four tournaments were held this season, namely EQL 6, 7, 8 and NQR 11.

For EQL 6 mythic was not part of the team but instead Lethalwiz and Eizid had joined the ranks. CSN ended up in division 4 and put up a good effort winning 6 games and losing 3. Term had more or less stopped playing by now and Hooraytio took on the role of team captain. CSN used 8 different players this season so the lineup was varied in skill. Despite that CSN ended up in 4th spot. Sadly though the playoffs never started and CSN could instead look forward to the next season.

Best player: Flamer 56 frags per map

Most active player: Hooraytio 100% activity

NQR 11 was one of the best tournaments for Chosen as they once again played in the Silver tournament. In NQR 11 the most active players in CSN were 187, Hooarytio, Donut, Pyta and Mythic and they also saw limited action from Fisto and Kalma amongst others. In the group stage CSN won 7 out of 9 games only losing to A2K and Mean Machine. The game against MM was sourrunded with some controversy as MM won after CSN had several timeouted players on DM3. The expression Joulupines was born in the 2-1 win against HIPS as CSN won on E1M2 after some really lucky pines at MEGA. Naturally CSN were through to the playoffs after ending up in 2nd place. For the first time they met Fraggers United in a playoff game and managed to win 2-0 quite comfortably even though Anza was disappointed with the result as he had expected CSN to play much better. Next up was Oblivion who had a really strong team with players like Djevulsk and Eta-Beta. This was a real thriller and CSN only managed to win after a nerve wrecking 5 map game wich saw CSN winning DM3 with only 4 frags just to mention one of the maps. In the end 3B was too strong in the final and won 3-2 aganist CSN after CSN had taken an early 2-0 lead. All in all a great season for CSN and a well run tournament by head admin Soma.

Best player: Mythic 49 frags per map

Most active player: 187 88% activity

Sadly EQL7 was a disappointment as CSN and other clans were kicked from their division as the season was run during the summer and everyone had problems fielding a team. There was also accusations about clans refusing to play against UK clan Dogs but Itsinen, the admin of EQL at that time, couldnt prove anything.

In the fall of 2008 EQL returned with its 8th season. Now the activity was higher and in division 3, where CSN played, 6 clans played all 5 games against eachother. By now Mythic and Eizid had left CSN but were instead replaced by Racesnigeln. Aside from Racersnigeln CSN used most of the players from NQR 11 except Kalma who didnt play any maps. In the group stage CSN won 3 games and lost 2. Their best effort was beating Cannon Fodder who had a strong lineup with players like Kingpin and Serox. Also the 2-1 win against Demolition Crew was nice since CSN always takes the games vs DC very seriously. Playoffs began and ended quickly as HIPS were too strong in the semifinal. The game ended 0-3 but CSN wasnt too far behind on any of the maps. Thus HIPS managed to get some revenge for their demise in the NQR 11 group game.

2009

EQL kept the seasons rolling and next up in the beggining of 2009 was season 9. Eizid was back in the lineup and he was accompanied by Racersnigeln, Hooraytio, Kalma, Fisto, Flamer, Pyta, Torre and Donut. 187 had now left CSN but he would be back later on. After the previous seasons EQL 9 was a little disappointing for CSN as they only managed to win 2 games and narrowly losing 3 more 1-2 while losing another 2 games 0-2 in division 2. Fisto, Hooraytio, Pyta and Donut played the most for CSN this season and in the playoffs they ended up versus A2K who promptly took CSN down 3-1 in the quarterfinal.

During the second half of 2009 EQL season 10 was the main focus of the qw scene. CSN now played in division 3 and alot of new players had arrived. Compared to EQL 9 players like Racersnigeln and Torre had left CSN while Sajko, Littleomar, Growdah1 and Junkass had arrived. Junkass made a brilliant first season for CSN as he ended up as the teams top fragger of the season. The season itself was a little boring as only 4 of 11 teams were truly active. Some teams thought they had been misplaced and others just didnt play for various reasons. CSN put up a decent fight in the regular season and was pitted against Teamkillers in the semifinal. TKS had a strong team and CSN had to concede defeat after a 1-2 result. However, there was still the bronze game to be played and the other team to reach the bronze game was Magnum44. After losing first map DM2 CSN could cruise to a 3-1 victory and secure the bronze medal.

2010

With NQR a distant memory of the past EQL had taken on a leading role as the number 1 4on4 tournament in QW. 2010 was no different as EQL rolled out EQL 11 in the spring and EQL 12 in the fall.

CSN was placed in division 2 of EQL 11 and by now Fisto and Growdah1 had left CSN while Niw and Vert made a short appearance in the team. Sajko also joined CSN in between EQL 10 and EQL 11 and quickly found his way into the main lineup. Hoorayio, Pyta, Sajko, Donut and Flamer saw most of the action during the season. In the group stage CSN went 4-4 beating teams like SSC and classic polish clan AX3 while losing to DC and FU amongst others. In the game against AX3 Junkass managed to get 1 frag, a frag that took the game into overtime which CSN subsequently won. Perhaps the most important frag in Junkass career. CSN was then eliminated from the playoffs by PC who took an impressive 3-0 victory.

After the summer it was time for EQL 12 and by now Rkd had joined CSN along with norwegian legend Effie. Sajko and Niw had left to explore other options. EQL 12 became one of the more successful seasons in the clans history as they won 7 games and lost 2 on their way to 2nd place in division 2. Pyta, Hooraytio, Rkd, Flamer and Junkass played the most while Kalma and Effie made a few good substitutions. In the playoffs CSN made short work of both OCLA and M44 but when the final came around both Rkd and Junkass were missing. BLT were able to win 3-0 but only after CSN had put up a good fight on all 3 maps.

2011

After EQL 12 Rkd had left CSN for new adventures and instead OK98 and Hagge turned up at the doorstep of CSN. Also Zaiko from BM joined CSN at this point and the team looked really good as they entered EQL 13. The regular season didnt go all that well though as CSN only managed to win 3 out of 9 games and had to face Lastenharha with players like Scenic, Twist and Creature in the quarterfinal. Somehow CSN took a 2-0 lead but after that it was downhill as Scenic and his boys went on to win 3 straight maps securing a spot in the semifinals.

In EQL 14 Rkd and Sajko were back and also Xero and Anupko joined the team. CSN played in division 2 where they won 4 games and lost 4 games. Their main lineup was Hooraytio, Rkd, Xero and Sajko while Pyta, Hagge and Anupko played sporadically. CSN ended up in 5th place and got to play against Immortals in the quarterfinal. The game was intense but in the end Immortals were able to secure a 3-2 win with a 50 frag margin in the last map of the game. When the year came to a close CSN could look back on their third most active season after their hay days of 07/08.

2012

2012 was less busy for CSN as half of the year was dedicated to the draft tournament Salvation. EQL ran one season in wich CSN partcipated with an entirely new lineup. CSN was left with a little too few players as Sajko, Xero, Anupko and Flamer had left and both Pyta and Kalma played alot less these days. The solution was to merge with a new clan that didnt have a name yet. Rikoll, Votary, Od and Trygve were going to play together but they thought they might have trouble being enough active so instead they agreed to join CSN for EQL 15. Rio, who had been in CSN for a while but didnt play much, also became more active during EQL 15. The group stage went well for CSN as they won 5 and lost 2 in group B. Hooraytio, Rikoll, Od and Rio played the most but the clan used a total of 9 players during the season. In the playoffs CSN faced C88 but fell short 2-3 after winning twice on DM2. This was also the last season Pyta played for CSN.

2013

In 2013 CSN had to do some heavy recruting again since most of their previous players had left. The new team consisted of Hooraytio, Hagge, Flintherat, Ake_Vader, Defcon5, MM, Pollox. EQL 16 started with CSN in division 1, this meant that CSN had to play against quite alot of tough teams. Their regular season record was 6 losses and 3 wins and they qualified for the division 1B playoffs. Sadly inactivity hit the scene and the semifinal against Fraggers United was won on WO and the final against ATG was never played. Despite the sad ending most of the team remained for the next season.

Best player: MM 57 frags per map

Most active player: Ake_Vader 95% activity

EQL 17 was just around the corner when MM decided to leave the clan. This was a heavy blow but CSN quickly recruited Elguapo, Xero and Krab and they were set to go. EQL 17 was a success for CSN as they won 7 games while only losing 3 during the group stage. CSN relied heavily on Elguapo, Krab, Hooraytio, Ake_Vader and Flintheart during the season but also Xero and Pollox jumped in and played well. When the playoffs began CSN was at 3rd spot and thus had to play against Paras in the quarterfinal. CSN quickly took a 2-0 lead before losing DM3 and with their backs close to the ropes they fought back to secure a 3-1 victory and push on to the semifinal were FU awaited them. In the semifinal the score was 1-1 before CSN pulled of two map wins in a row and secured yet another spot in an EQL divisional final. This time their opponent was Klaphat who had a strong team with players like Niw, Xenic and TheEvilDog. Nonetheless CSN somehow managed to win 3 maps in a row and the final was over much quicker than expected. CSN stood as divisional champions for the second time in 17 seasons.

2014

When 2014 began most of the players from EQL 17 remained with the team. However, Hagge and Defcon_5 had left the team while TheEvilDog and 187 had joined. CSN was ofcourse especially happy to see 187 back in the lineup. In EQL 18 chosen played together with the other teams in one bigi division and they won 3 games and lost 4 on their way to the playoffs. The regular season was actually a bit gruesome for them as they lost to all teams at their own skill level and only managed to win against the weaker teams. However, once the playoffs began CSN was a whole new team and they managed to take down both Fraggers United and Majestic 3-1 on their way to the final. In the final the only superstar team of EQL 18 awaited, namely Suddendeath. The final was a whole other story and naturally SD won 3-0. Nevertheless, CSN was quite happy to end up in 2nd place after a less good regular season. Hooraytio and Elguapo did most of the heavy lifting while Krab, TheEvildog, Pollox and 187 took turns at the other two spots. Unfortunately CSN only saw limited action from Xero, Ake_Vader and Flintheart.

Best player: TheEvilDog 54 frags per map

Most active player: Hooraytio 96% activity

EQL 19 wasnt very good for CSN when it comes to activity. In the end they really had to struggle to reach the B playoffs after all clans once again were put in one big division. CSN only played 5 of the 10 group games and ended up in 6th place with an 8-2 map record only losing 1 game. The team had also lost 187 and Pollox while gaining Katsku during the summer. When the B playoffs began CSN quickly dispatched SD2 3-0 and proceeded to the final against FU. The final was exciting as FU managed to win DM2 twice and push CSN to a 5th and final map. Last DM3 decisively went in CSNs favor and CSN once again stood victorious as B playoff champions. Most used lineup was Hooraytio, Elguapo, Ake_Vader and TheEvilDog while also Flintheart, Krab and Katsku jumped in now and then.

2015

There was no EQL season during the first half of 2015 because a lack of active admins. During the fall Hooraytio was back though and the 20th season of EQL could begin. This season Hooraytio and Ake_vader were left all alone until 187 and Hagge joined back up and also Votary and Od came back after some nagging from Hooraytio. For the third straight season all clans played in the same division and CSN won 7 games while losing 5 during the group stage. Hooraytio played most of the games while Ake_Vader, Hagge, 187, Votary and Od alternated in the other 3 spots. Their 7 wins earned them 5th place in the group thus qualifying them for the B playoffs. The playoffs was a big let down for CSN as they first lost 2-3 to 020 in the semifinal and then lost 1-3 to long time rival Fraggers United in the bronze game. CSN also had a serious lack of practice games during the season only playing 3 maps of practice before playing each EQL game in a row from start to bronze game.
