FTEDroid
From QWiki
FTEDroid is a fork of FTE and is also created by Spike. It's a QuakeWorld client for Android devices.
Features
- Different areas of the touchscreen are used to different binds;
- opens QuakeTV links;
Installation Instructions
- Download this to your phone (the .apk is updated regularly).
- Install it, connect your phone to your pc and copy pak0.pak and pak1.pak to the phone memory in /fte/id1/ folder.
Usage
If the console text size is too small, use the command vid_conautoscale 4. Noone is going to use FTEDroid to play. The #1 use is to spectate QuakeTV streams. Here's how to do it:
- visit http://qtv.quakeworld.nu/ with the phone’s browser;
- click on a ‘watch’ link;
- It asks me which app should open the link. Choose FTEDroid;
FTEDroid will launch and connect to the stream automatically. You can use volume keys to +showteamscores, the left and right area of the screen to +jump and +fire (mouse1 and mouse2 binds).
Known issues
- URLs opened with Opera browser don't work;
- users with swiftkey app reported not being able to use the onscreen keyboard to type in the console. Disable swiftkey.
- after a match ends, it disconnects from the stream
