Clients

Several different clients for QuakeWorld with different feature sets exists for a variety of platforms.

Actively Maintained

• ezQuake: modern feature set for competitive gaming
• Fodquake: fast, lightweight and portable
• FTE QW: also supports NetQuake, Hexen II and Quake II/III.
• FTEDroid: a port of FTE QW to Android

Obsolete and Unmaintained

• FuhQuake: Popular QW client
• MQWCL: MoreQW client
• TyrQuake: conservative enhancement of id Software's original client
• ZQuake: Seminal QW client

Client Distributions

Client Distributions are not clients themselves. Instead they bundle an existing client with assets (maps, textures, etc.) and configuration to make it easy for players to get started. The following distributions exist:

• AfterQuake: bundles FTE QW with all necessary files
• classiQ: bundles Fodquake with all necessary files
• nQuake: bundles ezQuake with all necessary files
