Magnum (Australian player)
Magnum is an Australian Quake player from Geelong, Victoria. He has been playing video games as long as he can remember and playing FPS since the days of Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Duke3D, etc.
Magnum was an active member of the Australian Quake scene from its earliest days until 2004 before taking an extended playing hiatus from the game, focusing on newer games, until returning to the king of FPS in mid 2020.
Through his early Quake days he formed a team with other local players Miyagi, Mithrel and Cerberus, and helped establish and run Network Meltdown LANs for the local Geelong scene, whilst regularly attending various LAN events in Melbourne to play Quake. Magnum was an early member of the Outta Town All Stars clan, being a player from outside the Melbourne area and a contributor to Besmella-Quake that covered the Australian Quake scene.
In the earliest days of Quake he has great memories of LAN games with the Ash'Ock clan, Sons of Quad at the Camberwell Internet Cafe, attending Impulse 97 LAN and playing Quake as a 'LPB' using the T1 connection at his University. Later memories of Shafted and Warts LAN and blurred eyes playing Quake with friends at their share house when he really should have been studying for Uni exams.
In 2020 Magnum returned to active play and the great community of Australian Quake players has aided his return to the game and to brush up on his skills.
