The Kombat FFA event is a standalone event with a €500 (EUR) prize pool. The idea of the event was to get some FFA going on several new maps and make a showcase of it on a good stream. Some classic maps are added as well. To make it interesting we made a little prize pool; it is not much but registration/playing is free so it is indeed free money for playing some Quakeworld for a couple of hours. The top 8 players get paid: minimum €30 (EUR) for top 8.

Prize pool

€500 (EUR) are spread among the players as seen below:

Format

We need a minimum of 24 players to kick the event off. 32 players is the limit we aim for, but if more players signup we might do 2 rounds of qualifiers. With 32 players or less, 1 round of qualifiers is enough.

12 players (or more) will play the Grand Final on 4 maps with timelimit 15; 60 minutes of playtime. To decide which players who will get that honor we will need qualifiers. The qualifier round will have 6 maps with timelimit 10 and there will be groups of maximum 8 players; 60 minutes of playtime.

NOTE: The admins will forcestart the server if players take too long breaks between each map. Also, any unsportsmanlike behavior will lead to disqualification. The admins words are final.

The number of signups will decide how many qualifier groups there will be. If there are 3 groups then the top 4 players in each group advance to the final, if there are 4 groups then the top 3 players in each group advance to the final, and so on. If we get too many signups we might change the qualifier setup/format.

The maps in the Grand Final are a bit larger than the maps in the qualifiers, so we add 4 more players in the Grand Final.

POINT SYSTEM

Players will receive points for each map they play. If the players are tied in the table on points, the tiebreaker will be:

1: The highest spot a player managed to be on a map (a 1st place beats a 2nd place etc).

2: If still tied, both/all players advance to the Grand Final.

3: Frags. If there are too many players tied - that advance to the Grand Final - total frags on all maps will decide.

4: If players are still tied and there are too many players who advance to the Grand Final, we will need another qualifier of 2 groups.

Points per map:

  • #1: 5 points
  • #2: 4 points
  • #3: 3 points
  • #4: 2 points
  • #5: 2 points
  • #6: 1 points
  • #7: 1 points
  • #8: 1 points (only in grand final)
  • #9: 1 points (only in grand final)
