I am looking for a fullbright skin that will show a player's top and bottom colors in fullbright. I used to have one that had a fullbright white line through the middle and then the top color above and bottom color below. I really liked that skin and would like to find it again or something similar to it. Thank you in advance.

That is close to what I was looking for. The skins I'm seeking are not a specific color, they are the top/bottom color of the player. As an example, with the skins I'm looking for. If I join a FFA, players will be fullbright in whatever colors they are wearing, thus making it very easy to tell who is who, instead of having all enemies the same color.

While there's a topic about it, I made some 24bit fullbright skins (for ezquake 1.8 beta) based on Primevil's awesome high res skin. Inside the zip is the green and purple from the screenshot, and also a blue.

I basically took those awesome skins and made them grayscale. I made a new layer on top, coloured it green/pink/blue and adjusted the layer transparency to taste. I used paint shop pro 7 if that matters. I'm sure photoshop is also up to the task.

What am I doing wrong ?? Can't get the 24bit textures to work, the player models are just grumsy brown failure!

Just tried installing ONLY nQuake and tried the r_enemyskincolor "2_green" and the player went brown !! I got ATi x600 if that has anything todo with anything.

Mick if you're using ezquake try cfg_reset to reset to the base configuration and see if you can load the skins. If not try a clean install of ezquake with just the id1 with pak1.pak pak0.pak and then add the skins to your skins folder and see if you can load them that way. then you can see if it has something to do with the config .

r_skincolormode 5
r_enemyskincolor 0 255 0

Is that what you want?
For choosing a skin please use the ingame skin menu (or if you really really want "enemyskin blah".

Hey, in nquake I am having trouble getting hires team skins to work with the 'movie' gfx preset. Only the lo res base skin shows. I can get it to work with the other presets but 'Eyecandy' has too many fx for my shitty onboard vid card that has a heart attack, 'Faithful' doesnt have the new smoke/blood/fire fx in it and ofcourse 'fastest' just looks poo.

There are like a million questions I could ask on how to change certain things within those preset but i'll just leave it as essentially I cant get full brights in movie mode....OR you could view it as I cant turn off certain FX in eyecandy mode
