QuakeWorld MIX League 3 is a 4on4 league dedicated for rookies and low/mid skilled 4on4 players. Players that are too strong will not be allowed to play; the admins decide whom is allowed to play in the league. The objective is to have a more rookie-friendly league/tournament to play in, along with some more experienced players that wants to help out: The main goal of QML is to help rookies learn the basics of 4on4 team deathmatch.

Rules

  • Teams: Teams each round are determined by the RANKINGS.
  • Maps: DM2, DM3, SCHLOSS, QOBBLESTONE, STEAM.
  • Standins: Try and use standins that actually plays in the league because that standin will then get this game/maps registered in the rankings (standin rankings). Also if possible try and get a standin that is close in the rankings of the player(s) missing. A standin used that is not in the league is also ok but all players should agree on that. Standins not in the league will be listed as standin players in the rankings, they dont affect anything in the league standings..
  • Match procedure: GO3. First map pick by the team who is selected by cmd rnd (rnd team1 team2).
  • Playoff match procedure: Playoff is BO5, first to win 3 maps win. Maps are dm2, dm3, steam, schloss, qobblestone. A map can only be played once. First do "rnd team1 team2" to decide who picks first map. Each team get 2 picks each. If a team is down 0-2 in maps they pick the 3rd map and if its 1-2 after the 3rd map the other team picks the 4th map.
  • Server settings: Standard settings set by command /4on4. Remember nospecs OFF and teamoverlay ON.
  • Matchtag: Set matchtag to have an option to pause the game: "/4on4 QML3"
  • Reporting: Report the game with screenshots in #reports channel at QML discord.
  • Client: Allowed clients: ezQuake 3.6.x. and the latest version of unezquake.
  • Ruleset: smackdown or smackdrive.
  • Cheating and misbehaving: Automatic kick and ban.
  • Changing Rules: Rules can be changed during the season for the benefit of QML.

Ping

  • The primary driver for server selection is to find a server where the teams have similar average pings (+/- 2ms) and to minimize that average.
  • The pings should be the most even for the two teams and measures like cl_delay_packet or proxy rerouting to balance pings should be employed. A team with a higher average ping than their opponent on a given server may request the opponent to do this (or change server to somewhere with lower average ping).
  • Matches must be played on EU servers.
  • The highest minping that can be required is 39ms. This may occasionally mean matches played with uneven pings where one team has high pinging players, e.g. NA players on EU server.
