NA QuakeWorld Draft 2/rules
From QWiki
NA QuakeWorld Draft has been started up for its second season by Bance. This event aims to strengthen the NA 4on4 scene by having a short season of draft games on the four most commonly played maps in NA. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up but some top players may be cut for the sake of allowing for good balance depending on the spread of skill in the signups. The tournament will start on February 16th 2025 and the draft will happen a week earlier on the 9th to give teams 1 week to plan and practice. This means sign ups will be closed on the 9th.
Rules
- Teams: Teams will be drafted on Feb 9th.
- Maps: DM2, DM3, E1M2, SCHLOSS.
- Standins: Standins are allowed in the case that a player cannot make it, the standin must be approved by the tournament organizer and the opposing team. The goal should be to preserve original balance and standins should only be used as a last resort.
- Match procedure: BO3. First map pick by the team who is selected by
cmd rnd
(rnd team1 team2).
- Server settings: Standard settings set by command /4on4. Remember teamoverlay ON.
- Matchtag: Set matchtag to have an option to pause the game: "/4on4 NAQW Draft 2"
- Reporting: Report the game with screenshots to Bance on discord.
- Client: Allowed clients: ezQuake 3.6.x. and the latest version of unezquake.
- Ruleset: smackdown or smackdrive.
- Cheating and misbehaving: Automatic kick and ban.
- Changing Rules: Rules can be changed during the season for the benefit of NAQW Draft 2.
- The primary driver for server selection is to find a server where the teams have similar average pings and to minimize that average.
- The pings should be the most even for the two teams and measures like cl_delay_packet or proxy rerouting to balance pings should be employed. A team with a higher average ping than their opponent on a given server may request the opponent to do this (or change server to somewhere with lower average ping).
- Matches must be played on NA servers.
